Question about 12 week scan...

So I don't have my midwife booking in appointment until January 12th which will make me 11+1.
Will she book my 12 week scan then? Or can I phone ahead and book it ASAP?
Just dreading that I won't get a scan when I'm 12 weeks and have to wait until the week later or something..
Thanks for any help.

Hi
My booking in was 11 weeks and she booked the scan whilst I was at the booking in. Scan was only days later

Yes there is a chance that your '12 week' scan might be 2 weeks either side of your actual 12th week. I think I had mine at 13 + 4. Ring whoever you rang to book the booking appointment with and check what the procedure is.

6 days later that's meant to say!

I would phone up tbh. Thats what i did recently and got my scan appt through the post as my booking in appt i was 11 weeks. Although they now scan from 11.4 to 14w so still time.

In my area they actually aim for your 12 week scan to be at 13+5 and for your 20 week scan to be at 21+5. Midwife usually books your scan whilst you're booking in.

Thank you for your replies.
It's not absolutely urgent that I have the 12 wk scan bang on 12 weeks... but the sooner the better!
I will give them a ring in the morning and see what they say.
I'm hoping they're quiet to be honest so they can squidge me in 😊
