haven't had a thyroidectomy, but did have auto-immune hypothyroiditus when v. young - my thyroid gland is now completely inactive (has been since I was about 3) and I've been taking thyroxine pretty much all my life. I did conceive, through IVF and am now 23+3.
Best of luck, and find me on Antenatal club due in June if you want any more info/advice. I don't know if my problems conceiving were down to thyroid - I suspect probably, but it's more because the auto-immune aspect of the disease has wider ranging effects, rather than simply my levels of thyroxine which are closely monitored anyway.
In terms of everything else, my lack of thyroid gland has never affected me adversely. I'm fit, energetic and healthy. Hope this is reassuring...

I did! I had a hemithyroidectomy where they removed half the thyroid. The bit that was left wasn't producing enough so they put me on thyroxine. Took a while to conceive but I don't think that was due to the operation. The important thing is to get the level of thyoxine right (and this is easy to do) and then there should be no problem - it's just a straightforward replacement for what your body would naturally produce.

My sister had this operation after she was diagnosed with Graves Disease & went on to conceive easily twice. She's on a really high dose of thyroxine & was closely monitored throughout her pregnancy. Good luck with everything.
