I don't want to sound ungrateful as I know there are plenty of people who want to conceive but can't or struggle...

But

How long can I expect morning sickness to last??
I'm 11 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and since 3 weeks I have spent more time with my head down the toilet than anything else :( I had nothing like this with my DS (5) no sickness at all but nothing seems to help, no food seems appealing and if i just want to sleep...please tell me this will end soon :(

Its awful isn't it. I cried when the sickness kicked in, I kept repeating to myself why have I done this, how will I cope. My dh wasn't much help if he had just come in the bathroom and stroked my back or been there it might have helped.
My sickness lasted till about 16 weeks Sad. I had to work 4or5 days a week, they knew I was suffering so had to let them know I was pregnant at 9 weeks.
For me eating salt and vinegar squares helped, sipping on sprite or cream soda. I went to my g.p when it became to much and he gave me some tablets that helped.

It is and so draining, pickled onion crisps which I used to hate were my best friend for about 4 days until the baby decided they weren't liked! Lol...I hope it won't last much longer, I owe myself a Christmas dinner when I can eat again, couldn't eat it just managed a cheese sandwich - not quite as nice

Try full sugar lemonade (like R Whites or Schweppes). That helped me so much (I found if I had some lemonade, it let me eat a small amount)

Sour stuff helped quell my sickness - things like grapefruit juice and bitter lemon.

You can buy cyclizine over the counter- obviously check with your GP/ midwife first but there is absolutely no reason to suffer unnecessarily. Pregnancy is hard enough without worrying your baby is malnourished or you lacking the energy to cope Day to day because you can't eat. I had HG last pregnancy and insisted the dr prescribed me something as soon as I got my positive test this time round because I was so terrified. It won't stop all the sickness but it really helps xx

I had quite bad sickness for a long while, I'm 26 weeks now and my last sickness was 2nd December at 21 weeks. Someone suggested wearing those sea sickness wrist bands, I had some but couldn't find them but wish I'd had at least tried them!

Never be hungry, as soon as I woke up I'd snack on Ritz biscuits (as advised by a MNer!), then sat up in bed for 15-20 mins to get used to being upright. If smells trigger your sickness like mine did then revert to fragrance free stuff, I'm using fragrance free shampoo/conditioner and even washing up liquid (although we use the dishwasher mainly!). Toothpaste was a tricky one for me to get right, had to stop using my Sensodine but found a gel one by Oral B is ok. It's different for everyone though so it will be trial and error. Always have sick bags on you, you never know when you may throw up!

Eat little and often and eat early, my whole life is now a lot earlier, lunch is 12 instead of 2/3 and dinner i aim for 7 instead of 8.30-9!

Sea sickness bands were my best friend. Took the edge off for sure!
