Can't fit in my jeans at 6 weeks!

I'm only 6 weeks pregnant but I'm completely unable to button my jeans now. I started to bloat the week after I conceived and now I have a big hard bump where my stomach should be! I'm not overeating at all though in fact with the lack of drinking recently I should be more healthy than usual! I'm considering buying maternity jeans but I'm scared as I had a miscarriage at 6 1/2 weeks a month before this pregnancy and I don't want to tempt fate or anything. Did this happen to anyone else?

I was in maternity jeans from around that time too. All due to bloating.

RandomMess · 30/12/2016 12:55

Yep, I think you'll find maternity jeans to big though!!

Leggings for a while?

Artandco · 30/12/2016 12:56

Sure you didn't just eat too many mince pies? 6weeks baby is pea size

MrsChrisPratt · 30/12/2016 13:11

It'll be bloat. Just wear what's comfortable, if that's maternity jeans it will make no difference to the outcome whatsoever.

Would the hair bobble/elastic band trick work? You loop it around the button (Google for better instructions)
I was a bit bloated but I mostly wear jeggings which are softer and I still fit in mine now at 19 weeks. My actual proper denim jeans I do the hair bobble trick, with a longer top, no one notices!
Congratulations!

I started in primark jeggings a size up at 5w and then I've bought ASOS under the bump jeans in the sale. I have IBS so suffer with bloating anyway and I'd rather be comfortable. Wearing maternity jeans won't jinx anything for you, and if you wear a long top no one need know they're maternity jeans.

Probably bloating.... baby plus sac is tiny but the refers of progesterone on your GI tract are kicking in properly and this is very common... I got smaller again at about twelve weeks, also when the nausea settled. And then got a proper pregnancy bump about another eight weeks later. Took till about 22 weeks to look as pregnant as I did at eight!

I'm the same, massively bloated. I was with DS too, leggings are your friend!

topaz22 · 30/12/2016 15:27

i was the same. i have a really high uterus so even though the baby is tiny your uterus is a lot bigger than normal! try some maternity leggings they are really comfy

mistletoeprickles · 30/12/2016 15:59

I'm a bit further along, 7+3 but I'm massively bloated (with help of progestrone pessaries) Matalan do normal jeans that are elasticated waist, there cheap and look good and most importantly they are comfy

Hi ladies thanks for the responses it's good to know it's not just me. No I haven't eaten too many mince pies (rude!) I think I would know if I was just putting on weight this quickly and yes I know baby isn't big enough for a bump I was just wondering how people deal with the bloating.
Also- I'm nearly 6 foot tall I don't wear leggings they look daft on me :)
