I've heard I should get a new cot mattress for DC2 due to SIDs risk. Does this also mean I need new travel cot and bassinet mattresses too?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes it does. Bit of a pain but worth it for peace of mind.

I got a new cot mattess but used the same Moses basket and travel cot for my second.
They are now 11 & 8 and fit as fiddles.

When my parents were born they slept in a drawer.

My parents did too! But alas now they've put the fear of SIDS into my head I'm too scared to risk it. I think I will have to get new mattresses otherwise I will worry....It just costs so much and seems a shame when I already have perfectly good mattresses..
