I'm 17+1 and not heard about my 20 week scan yet,
Is that normal or should I be chasing up?

At my hospital it gets booked at your 12 week scan. Did you mention it to MW at 16 week appt?

clarka · 28/12/2016 13:12

Have you called/asked your midwife? I think it's different in different areas but no harm in checking.

Snowflakes1122 · 28/12/2016 13:21

It varies area to area. With my last baby I booked it whilst at my 12 week scan.
This time I was told a letter would come out to me with an appointment date. I got this at 14 weeks.

I would ask you're midwife about it

I'm getting ever so confused about where I am supposed to call for my midwife.

I pulled out my notes and on the front page is a sticker with some numbers on of the hospital ante natel department.

I called there and was told that I need to speak to the midwife.

Found a number for the surgery I saw the midwife at from their website and called there but was told that the midwife team are separate from the surgery and they don't have contact numbers for them but they will be in on Friday afternoon if I wanted to go there to wait to talk to someone in person.

I explained I can't get there then and asked who else I could call, but they don't have any other numbers and suggested I call the hospital ante natal department which I had already tried.

They don't make this easy

Where I am, you book it at reception following your 12 week scan. I would just call the antenatal department and explain. If you don't know which number to use, just call main hospital switchboard and ask to be put through.

I didn't get a date for mine through until I was about 18 weeks.

MrsJW15 · 28/12/2016 14:36

Who did you book the 12 week scan with? Should be the same people.

Difficultyear2015 · 28/12/2016 14:41

The 12 week scan came through the post Fter I had my booking appointment.

Have you still got your 12 wk scan letter? Call the number on that letter.

champagneplanet · 28/12/2016 14:56

I'm 20 weeks next week and mine came through last week, so I would have been just 18 weeks then. My midwife said to chase her if it hadn't come by 19 weeks.

champagneplanet · 28/12/2016 14:57

It was also automatic, I didn't have to do anything following the 12 week scan.

Blueroses99 · 28/12/2016 15:30

My 12 week scan came in the post but I booked my 20 week scan at the 12 week scan.

catx1606 · 28/12/2016 17:02

I automatically got a letter through with the date for my 20 week scan. So far the only appointment that I have had to arrange for myself was my 16 week appointment

GreenGoblin0 · 28/12/2016 17:27

call the number on your 12 week appt letter. you will be in "the system" so they should be able to give you your appt date.

arbrighton · 28/12/2016 17:37

Had my 12 week today and 20 week is booked in already. Doing my booking appt triggered the computer to book my 12 week. And my 16 wk midwife was booked at the booking appt.

First two of the growth scans I'm going to need are also booked in already

Potnoodlewilld0 · 28/12/2016 17:39

My appointment was for after I was 20 weeks. The whole of my last pregnancy was a farce due to the appointments.
