I have just found out that I am pregnant and my twin babies are only seven months old! I am in shock.I had IVF to get the twins and did'nt think I could conceive naturally. I am also 40 years old. Has this happened to anyone out there and how did you cope? Aren't we supposed to leave a gap of at least a year for the body to return to normal?

bigcar · 20/02/2007 10:04

I fell after 6 months too, youll be fine, congrats!

piglit · 20/02/2007 10:06

I fell pregnant when ds1 was 3 months old. I had a section with ds1 and was worried about being pg so soon after having a section. It was all fine and ds2 was born when ds1 was 12 months old.

Congratulations and good luck. I hope you'll have lots and lots of help!

KathyMCMLXXII · 20/02/2007 10:07

I got pg (deliberately) when dd was 9 months. The first few weeks of ds weren't esay but it's amazing how quickly you settle down - congratulations!!!!

SmileysPeople · 20/02/2007 10:09

Abena that's grest news!!

A bit scary maybe, but great.

Don't worry about your body, it's obviously doing very well left to it's own devices.

ScottishThistle · 20/02/2007 10:10

Congratulations!

I hope you'll have lots of extra hands around to help out, 16mth old Twins alone are hard work.

midnightexpress · 20/02/2007 11:24

Congratulations Abena! I had ds2 4 weeks ago, when ds1 was 14 months old - I'm 40 too and hadn't thought I was very fertile. I also had cs for both, and despite the hassle of recovering from that with a rampant toddler and a newborn, it's great! Get lots of help if you can and enjoy your pregnancy and your twins.

Mumpbump · 20/02/2007 11:29

Congratulations Abena! There is 14 months between me and my sister so I don't think it matters if you don't leave a year. My, you're going to have your hands full!!!

Hulababy · 20/02/2007 11:33

Congratulations!

badelaide · 20/02/2007 11:37

Congratulations Abena, and be confident! You're coping with twins, dc3 will be a piece of cake, one arm tied behind your back etc etc.
......and 40? pah, just a baby yourself...

foxtrot · 20/02/2007 11:38

Ooh, congratulations. My DC all came close together. Life will be a blur for a while but it will be fine

lizziemun · 20/02/2007 11:47

Abena · 20/02/2007 16:59

No advice sorry but you'll manage and after a couple of weeks wont be able to remember life pre 3 I'm sure

fryalot · 20/02/2007 17:16

didn't have twins, but got pg after 5 months. You'll be fine.
Honestly.

Good luck and congratulations.

divastropwantstodrop · 20/02/2007 17:17

congrats

i got preg with dd1 when ds1 was 2 months old,and everything was fine, and i am now expecting db5 in 2 weeks when dd2 will be 15 months

going out could be difficult but you can get triple buggies or maybe have the newborn in a sling for the first couple of moths?

jersey · 20/02/2007 19:47

Hi, I am nearly 2 months preg with DS2 7 months and DS1 2.5 years, planned! It is exhausting at the moment but hoping once past the initial tiredness I am hoping it will be easier as DS1 and DS2 can play together.

I think quadrophenia (sp?) had twins and then a newborn fairly close together I am sure I read about it when she was selling her tandem buggy on the for sale board, may be worth CAT her or put a post on chat for her

ellieandhattie · 12/03/2007 08:59
