If you don't have any official remedies, can you go with fruit juice or something that might move you along? Christmas dates maybe?

GlassHearts · 25/12/2016 15:01

I've heard putting your feet up on a stool can help.

flumpybear · 25/12/2016 15:07

Think you can take lactulose

Nikki2ol6 · 25/12/2016 21:31

I had this and it was just too big to come out, I ended up tearing and bleeding and ended up with an awful hemroid

lauryloo · 25/12/2016 21:33

Poo step always worked for me!

MrsBellefleur · 25/12/2016 21:42

I've suffered from this this week and I'm only 26+5. The step doesn't help me. I think I need to mainline oranges!

sj257 · 25/12/2016 21:43

I managed to go eventually, it was awful 😞 going to make sure I eat more fruit/veg!

Weetabix and leaning back xx

Feet raised up eg on a step.
Leaning forward (as far as you can).
Prune juice.
On all fours - cat movements (arch and curl back).
Circling hips e.g. On birthing ball.
I found that magnesium supplements (dissolved in water) helped.
Lactulose from the pharmacy (not helpful now at all, sorry).
Having hot drink e.g. Herbal tea as first drink in morning.

Best of luck - I didn't suffer too badly in pregnancy but after an epidural and instrumental birth I struggled like hell. Tried everything and the things above worked nicely. Though too much lactulose has too much of an effect.

I'm in the same boat OP. Hope you're feeling ok now. I still haven't managed to go and now realise that I have a haemorrhoid and I'm too scared to try any more Shock
Met my mum as I came out of the bathroom and ended up crying to her about my 'situation' and then DH and along and they both gave me a comforting pep talk and promised we'd go to the pharmacy tomorrow. Oh the indignity!

And drink lots of water - best thing to help

BeaveredBadgered · 27/12/2016 22:02

I went to GP and was prescribed movicol. Tried everything else first!

choccybiscuit · 27/12/2016 22:33

Fresh prunes

IMissGin · 27/12/2016 22:37

Glycerin suppositories and if really bad, some Vaseline and a rubber glove Blush I'm 30weeks and feeling your pain. Got laxido from doctors but it makes heart burn intolerable and some phosphate enemas for when it's really bad. Very glam.

Pointlesscrap · 28/12/2016 00:33

I eat high fibre wholemeal bread helps me so much. i feel for you ladies good luck x
