Yesterday did the food shop with incredible, regular Braxton hicks. Last night kept waking up with tightenings and period pains. I'm 38 weeks on Monday!

Don't think he's coming imminently but it's getting exciting!! Hope I don't have 2 or 3 weeks of this though!

I'm 38 wks and been having the same yesterday cramps back ache and tightening all day! They stopped for a few hours in the afternoon and came back a couple of hours later but they stopped all together now I'm left aching from my back all down my legs and it hurts to walk. I feel utterly exhausted today also and I slept really well for once! I just want to go back to bed lol I hope he's here soon

MagpieCursedTea · 25/12/2016 10:37

I've been getting this on and off since Thursday now (and a smaller episode of it last weekend). I'm exhausted!
I hope yours ramps up quicker than mine!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 25/12/2016 11:05

Are yiu sure its BH? Have you timed them?

boodles101 · 25/12/2016 11:15

How exciting for you! I'm 38 weeks on Monday too and have zero signs of anything! Not even sure I've had any BH. Want Xmas out the way then I'm defo ready for baby to come and to stop feeling so huge!!

DoubleCarrick · 25/12/2016 11:45

I.literally just said to DH I probably ought to time them after the third one in a row - maybe about five mins apart...not actually sure because we are still lazing around in bed.

I don't think they're actual contractions because they mustn't be as guests are arriving in about half hour and staying until.tomorrow evening AND I'm planning on having a home birth!

Fun times!

A Christmas baby!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 25/12/2016 11:55

You do know that BH aren't regular don't you? Xmas Smile

Nikki2ol6 · 25/12/2016 13:06

Mine were regular yesterday and stopped after hours. Haven't even had one today so far

DoubleCarrick · 25/12/2016 17:24

So I haven't had the baby yet but the period pains are starting up again. Let's see what this evening brings

Oh lucky you I hope it turns into something Iv had 1 braxton hick today! Just 1!!! I feel sooooo tired though Iv just nodded off and I really wish it was bed time lol

JiltedJohnsJulie · 25/12/2016 17:38

You know what the hospital would say, have 2 paracetamol and a bath! Grin

I had this with both of mine a few days before it kicked of properly. Small contractions for a few hours that then went off. Had pretty easy births so perhaps you will be the same.

I had DC1 at 38+1 btw Grin

Alwayswaiting · 25/12/2016 17:41

I'm 40 weeks tomorrow, and last night had contractions every 10mins, lasting for 1 min. Had a bath and it started to slow. Then decided to go bed and get some sleep and they wore off completely. DS1 was born at 41 weeks and DS2 at 40+3 so hopefully not long to go!

DoubleCarrick · 25/12/2016 18:22

I don't feel like anything is bad enough for a paracetamol at the moment. Keeping moving is helping - feeling very restless. Really don't think this is labour though - think my body is just preparing a bit. Hopefully not tonight in the hotel!!

I had this with my dd for two weeks before she was born! Very frustrating. Good luck!

Nikki2ol6 · 25/12/2016 20:51

2wks 😱

Whatsername17 · 25/12/2016 21:19

Yup. I eventually had a sweep at 40+5 and was 2cm dilated. Midwife said I was in slow labour. I spent 2 weeks saying that to dh that I felt 'tonight is the night' and went to bed certain I'd wake up to contractions intensifying. Instead they stopped.

Nikki2ol6 · 25/12/2016 21:26

Oh man that must have drove you crazy!! My induction is in 10 days so I'm hoping he comes before that

Horsegirl1 · 25/12/2016 21:31

I had 2 weeks of the same. Very frustrating at the time

Nikki2ol6 · 26/12/2016 08:48

Doublecarrick how are you now?

DoubleCarrick · 26/12/2016 10:44

Morning Nikki, thanks for checking up on me. I slept really well in the hotel last night --mattress covered with absorbent waterproof sheeting just incase!!

Back home now and am getting the occasional contraction type feeling with some period pains. I've left my family downstairs and am tucked up in bed as I'm shattered!

PILs down in a bit and tomorrow with the inlaws and then this baby is allowed to come! The stop/start is a little annoying though!

Oh at least your baby waited lol. I hope it's the start for you!! Nothing going on here at all 😭 Turkey curry later though so who knows lol

Tfoot75 · 26/12/2016 10:55

I had this off and on for several weeks with both of mine and they were born at 40+7 and 40+4. Best thing to do is carry on as normal, when it's the real thing you won't be able to! Braxton hicks may not be regular or painful but pre-labour definitely can be, unfortunately it doesn't mean it's necessarily imminent!

DoubleCarrick · 26/12/2016 15:05

I have visions of a week or two long pre labour!!! Not that it's really bothering me, just want to finish the Christmas celebrations first. One more day to get through!

How are you today? I'm 39wks today (by the hospitals dates, 38+4 by mine) and have woken up with tightenings Every 7 minuets but not sure what to make of it yet

DoubleCarrick · 28/12/2016 05:14

Morning!! Swiftly left family gathering yesterday after having about four in twenty minutes but it's tailed off again!!

I'm 38 + 3 (I think.... I don't actually know what day it is today!!)
