How would I go about booking an ultrasound scan? I'm about 7/8 weeks now, would I be able to?

Sorry if this is silly. I'm 18 and this is obviously my first, just not sure how to go about getting a scan - I've only just made my mind up about keeping it which is why I haven't been in contact with a doctor yet.

Thanks! GrinSmile

You can book one online but you do know you have to pay? Not the NHS you only get a scan at 12 weeks and 20weeks so if you want a scan now for any reason you will have to book a private scan online and pay, mine was £99 at 9 weeks. You need to see your doctor and tell them your pregnant and they will arrange for you to meet the midwife and she will arrange your scan at the hospital

Your booking in scan is normally at 12 weeks. You need to go to your gp and they will refer you to your local maternity unit.
You'll get a booking on appointment at around 10 weeks to see your midwife and fill out your medical history in your maternity file as well as take your bloods.
Here in nw it's at that appointment the midwife gives you your dating scan appointment.

You need to ring your GP surgery and find out what their procedure is. Some will have you in to see doctor others will book appt straight with midwife. First scan would be around 12 weeks unless you choose to have a private early scan

If you are thinking of not continuing call your GP and ask for a referral to your local pregnancy advice service. It is usually a number they give you to call. You will get a scan to see how far on you are and some good advice, counselling.
If you decide to continue you should again call your GP and make a booking appointment with the community midwife.
Good luck
