Anyone transferred back to previous midwife after a house move?

Hi all
I'm 27 weeks and three weeks ago registered with GP in our new town and have seen midwife here twice.
I had GTT last week and was told last Thursday that I had gestational diabetes and the diabetes nurse would be in touch. To cut a long story short - no-one got in touch with me and after being brushed off by the midwives office on Wednesday, I called the hospital diabetes clinic myself yesterday to be told the result was normal ?!? A week of worrying and hardly eating for nothing!
I asked to speak to a GP yesterday for some clarification - no-one has called. My Health Visitor has been trying the midwife on my behalf all week - no response.

In short - should I request to go back to the NHS trust I was being seen by before we moved? It's an hour away but everything seemed much more organised. I'd already seen the consultant to agree birth plan. I'm waiting for a consultant appointment here and wondering if I will ever get one!

Sorry for the long post. I just don't know what to do. I know mistakes happen but I feel like I've been totally forgotten about. WWYD?

You can but you'd have to go there for all your appts. Including if you think you need to be seen/self refer for stuff like reduced fetal movement.

Think about what you'd want to do postnatally as well because the midwives from hospital one won't come and see you at home. So you'd either have to transfer care to your local hospital postnatally (hospital one should sort this) or travel back to hospital one to be seen.

You could ring hospital two and ask to speak to antenatal clinic sister and explain how let down you feel. Give her a chance to explain/sort stuff out.

Thanks Possum - my parents live in old area so we could potentially spend first week with them and have postnatal care there. I decided to move the care in the first place for all the reasons you mentioned above - but I'm just feeling so worried now about the care in this area :/ It's not so much the mistake - just the total lack of communication and how hard it is to speak to someone.
I have an appointment with new midwife coming up this week so hopefully will get some answers then.
I have been in touch with the health visiting team in the new area and they have been great and really on the ball - so not sure what's going on with the antenatal care.

To be honest I think wherever you move to this can happen. You might find once you're in the system it's a lot better.

I think you're right. And I've heard nothing but good things about the actual hospital and consultants there. I shall just have to put my big girl pants on next week and get some answers (and a consultant's appointment!)
A family friend was a coordinator in the antenatal clinic in my old town so I think I was particularly well looked after! Back to reality now.

Where do you plan to have the baby? An hour in the car in labour does not sound like fun!

Might be best to stay local! But maybe get a bit pushy with them to get your appt etc.

Hi FineLine - plan in old area was planned c-section at 38 weeks as I'm high obstetric risk.
So I shouldn't be in labour! But I now have to wait for consultant's appointment in new area which I've had no word about - - and they may well not agree with previous plan, which is also stressing me.
With Xmas coming up now, I feel like I'm starting to run out of time.
I had stress with my first pregnancy also due to moving - although that time it was internationally. Just so disappointed with what's happened this week.

But you could go into labour at 37 weeks.

Yes I could! I'm going to speak to new midwife and old midwife this week. Hopefully get some advice and reassurance.
