I'm 37wks and a few days and this morning was rushing around looking for my sons Jeans for his Christmas party and I was getting all stressed as we were going to be late and all of a sudden I stared to see glitter floating around.... I felt a bit out of breath and sweaty too! What was this? I feel ok now

Contact your midwife asap, get your bp & wee checked to be on the safe side.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 16/12/2016 10:27

It's because you were rushing around probably,it's what people call 'seeing stars.'If you get it again get yourself checked as it can be a sign of pre eclampsia.

Tootsiepops · 16/12/2016 10:27

I get this. It's blood pressure related. Call your midwife for a check.

honeysucklejasmine · 16/12/2016 10:29

What they said about blood pressure. Get checked out asap.

Haggisfish · 16/12/2016 10:30

Get checked now.

Shutupandsmile · 16/12/2016 10:32

Yeah it sound like BP! Make sure you drink loads of water and go to see your GP or midwife!

bruffin · 16/12/2016 10:36

I was asked if i saw stars everyday when i had preclampsia. Get it checked asap

Minispringroll · 16/12/2016 11:32

As the others have said, get it checked. It could be an issue but it doesn't have to be.
I get this (and my BP is fine), especially when I'm tired and I'm wearing my contact lenses. My midwife knows but isn't concerned.

I've been wearing glasses more fequently during the last few weeks and haven't had the issue anymore. My eyes just get dry and tired with the contacts in.

Trifleorbust · 16/12/2016 11:36

I got a bit of this but my BP was fine.

Nikki2ol6 · 16/12/2016 11:49

Back from my midwife and all is fine and she told me to slow down!! She said I was probs over doing it but my bp and urine are fine so she isn't worried

Phew! Glad all is well.

Nikki2ol6 · 16/12/2016 14:20

I know but I think slowing down with a toddler and 3 kids is easier said than done lol

I often get this especially when pregnant. I find it happens when I am crouched down then get up suddenly - were you doing that looking for the jeans? It's blood pressure like others have already said. I got it a lot at end of my pregnancies but didn't have pre-eclampsia, however it definitely warrants a check.

Sparrowlegs248 · 16/12/2016 20:14

Is it high or low BP that causes it?

talkshowhost97 · 17/12/2016 06:35

I have low blood pressure, worse at the start of pregnancy, saw stars and was prone to fainting if I stood still for more than a couple of minutes. So I assume low, although isn't pre-eclampsia high bp?

Sparrowlegs248 · 17/12/2016 08:24

Mine is on the low side normally but I got really high BP towards the end of my last pregnancy - and yes it's high that points towards pre eclampsia.

It's been on the low side this pregnancy and I've had a few light-headed moments.
