Yoga or aqua fit

Hi ladies,

So I am starting to feel the pregnancy niggles, sore back etc etc. Figure getting a bit more active might help.

I fancy trying either pregnancy yoga or aqua fit classes, problem is where I live they are on at the same time only once per week so I am going to have to choose.

Any thoughts on what is better for you?

Thanks!

Personally, I'd rather not faff around in the pool and with the showering etc afterwards.

Very different things though- yoga is flexibility and being calm, aqua fit will be more cardio

I enjoyed aquafit but I also pulled my tummy muscles a few times and thought I was having a MC... Think swimming is most recommended because you take the weight off your back/joints etc x

It depends how you feel. Before mat leave I was imagining swimming every day in the run up to birth. I've been once in the last 2 weeks. I found the ffaff of getting dresses in a tiny cubicle so annoying and coupled with SPD trying to get socks and trousers on when everything is a little damp was just near impossible! I also found the sensation of swimming a bit strange as I felt like I was pulling on my belly muscles but quite enjoyed bobbing around the shallower end.

Loving pregnancy yoga. it feels a lot more like relaxation than exercise, which is why I love it! And they show a lot of fab moves to stretch sore muscles like the back.

I'd go to both classes once to try them out and then choose which one you're going to stick with!

Yoga gives you some exercises that you can use in labour and when you are uncomfortable at home.
Just go do regular swimming for the weightlessness effect.

Thanks!

Think the yoga sounds a bit more relaxing than falling in my face after hoping around trying to get my trousers back on to damp legs :)

Just need something to help work through these wee aches and pains and help prep for the big day..... nervous!

Sounds like the yoga will be the thing for you then
