I've just come back from a growth scan and am 35 weeks pregnant. I don't know the sex but wobbled when the sonographer asked if I wanted to find out. She had a good look but said she didn't want to tell me as she wasn't 100% sure. I have two boys already and there was no doubting what they were at my anomaly scans. What does this meeeaaaann? Wish I never asked now!

Probably that something was in the way (the umbilical cord?)

Princesspinkgirl · 13/12/2016 13:19

Baby must have been in a unfavourable position they aren't allowed to be 100% I actually found out mine gender at just 17 weeks privately and then went on to have another private scan at 24 weeks to confirm as my hospital don't tell you gender at all that's Shropshire! If you really want to know then to be honest I would book privately

gintonicgin · 13/12/2016 13:24

She didn't mention about any obstruction in the way like the umbilical cord. Wish I was strong and said no to looking!

35 weeks the baby can be quite squished and they don't get a good view like they would at say 25 weeks. Don't worry lol I'm sure it doesn't mean that nobody can tell!! It was just A bad image

Hulaballoo · 13/12/2016 15:25

Do you have a 12 week scan we could guess with nub theory? 😀

JosephineMaynard · 13/12/2016 15:27

Baby probably was just in a position where she couldn't see that bit properly.

Soubriquet · 13/12/2016 15:32

Yes at 35 weeks it's a lot harder to see

We could see dd very clearly at 35 weeks.. She had her legs wide open and everything was extremely visible. Even to an untrained eye Blush

I had regular scans too and the further along you are, the harder it is for them to see in between the legs

peaceloveandbiscuits · 13/12/2016 15:37

Not long to wait and see anyway!

Helbelle75 · 13/12/2016 15:54

Our baby HD legs firmly together the whole way through our 20 week scan, so we didn't get to find out. Very much depends on baby'seats poisition and angles I think.

gintonicgin · 13/12/2016 16:42

Here's scan pic, hope it works as I've never attached a pic before. Please do have a look at the nub if you can see it (baby was in an awkward position that day as well!)
