TENS Machine Help...

I'm sorry if this isn't allowed MNHQ. Please delete if I have broken the rules....

Hello fellow pregnant MNers....

I desperately need help from someone in NI or mainland UK who will be in Boots in the next little while. I have a Boots Maternity Tens Unit (the one in the white and pink box) and I desperately need replacement pads. The trouble is, I'm in Ireland and I have called every single store in the country and there are no replacement pads available here. What's more, they are not available online and nobody can give me any indication of when they'll be back in stock. I'm due my 3rd baby in 5 weeks (though I've never gone before 39 weeks and there's already talk of inducing me at 38 weeks for various complications).

Is there any chance at all someone could help me? I will very gladly transfer the money to you asap (before you purchase) and pay for postage to me here in Ireland. I can't make the journey to NI myself because I have HG and travelling more than a mile or two leaves me hospitalised.

I would be so grateful if anyone could help or if anyone has any ideas that my baby brain just hasn't found yet. For instance, do any of you know if any of the other replacement pads are compatible with the Boots Maternity Unit.

Yours in desperation...

Thank you so much. I can't believe a stranger would help me out. This was a total long shot so it's lovely that you would have helped. It hadn't occurred to me to check the UK Boots website but it seems they're sold out everywhere 😕 I did as you suggested though and tried eBay. Couldn't find an exact match but I've ordered some that might work. Thanks again x

You might want to call the hospital you're with either. I'm with a midwife led unit in the south and they have spare pads they can give you (told this at antenatal session) so maybe the midwives where you are would have some spares or be able to tell you what would be compatible? If worst came to the worst could you borrow a different unit? Or buy a new one? there are probably some Irish Facebook groups who might help either. I'm on gentlebirth mums (a closed group but you just request to join) and they're always good for giving ladies a dig out. Hope the eBay ones work!!!
