Hi all, new to mumsnet and also first pregnancy. Im 18+5
I first felt little flutters at around 15.5weeks these were inconsistent and some days I felt nothing. Up until last few days the movements had gotten alot stronger and for over a week id been feeling them multiple times a day. For the past 2 days I may have felt baby move maybe once or twice and nowhere near as strong as i have done. Is this normal so early on? Im not overly worried just wanted to hear others stories :)

If I remember correctly I didn't feel consistent movement until at least 20 weeks. What you are feeling sounds perfectly normal to me

My baby's movements went the same as your description and I went to the midwife to double check everything was ok.
She said that it was probably because the baby is still small at this stage so can move round to places inside your belly where it may not be as obvious for you to feel the movements.
You should definitely ring the midwife and get assessed just to make sure everything's ok and to put your mind at rest

I'm 19 weeks and also started to feel the flutters early on about 15 weeks, same too that they have gotten stronger the past week and a half, I had this same question as I had loads then none for 2 days! I had to be seen by a consultant anyway (pre booked appt) so waited and asked them, consultant said it was perfectly normal as baby can just tuck inside pelvis so can't be felt some days! She also said they wouldn't expect regular movements/patterns till 24 weeks so not to worry before then. (I probably still will mind) Confused Xxx

It's totally normal! DD disappeared altogether at about 17 weeks for about a fortnight. Until about 28 weeks the baby is so small that he/she can hide for quite a while. You are absolutely right to be aware of movements, but honestly, when you feel what the movements are like by about 28 weeks, you will see why they don't tell you to monitor them until then. congratulations!

Totally normal at that stage, they won't get consistent til about 28 wks
