Hey.
I am about 6 weeks pregnant and my doctor is sending me into hospital tonight as i have one sided pain but no blood etc as he wants to rule out ectopic. I am so scared. Anyone else been through this? What will they do?

It'll be an internal scan maybe followed by bloods to see hcg levels.

Good luck Flowers

They will do an internal scan to see where your baby is. If it is ectopic then it will need to be removed. But try not to worry it's quite rare to have an ectopic

I had the same at 5 and half weeks, had an internal scan and blood test. All turned out to be fine (I'm now 15weeks) and the pain was due to a cyst on one of my ovaries which was nothing to worry about and cleared up on its own in a few weeks.

Fx for you everything is fine x

Hello. Hope you're outcome was a positive one.
I had a similar experience at 5.4- pains but no bleeding. Dr sent me to EPU for an early scan. An internal one. All came back fine and they said the pain was due to a cyst on ovary which is apparently quite common in early pregnancy and should go on its own. Good luck!

I went in at 8 weeks, they kept me in over night on a drip, I had an physical examination from a gynaecologist and did some blood tests i was told not to eat or drink as if it is ectopic they'd operate straight away. I had an internal scan the next morning around 9 which dated me at only 6 weeks but they found the pain was caused by a cyst on the ovarie which is also completely normal and develops into the placenta (or something along them lines?!). I was discharged an hour or two later, I then had a follow up internal scan 2 weeks later.
