Fainting in pregnancy

Well, eventful evening last night. Went to the hairdresser's and nearly blacked out in the chair. Paramedics called, ended up lying on the floor of the salon for and hour and then ambulanced to A&E. Apparently it was a vago vassal, low blood pressure may have been the cause. Was in A&E for 6 hours though, exhausted and hungry, but all checked out OK. They didn't check on baby but I have felt a lot of movement, so assume all is OK.
Going to gp today. Anyone else had this?

Iv never fainted but I have been close in my pregnancies quite a few times!! Once in a shop when I was on my own! The lady at the till seamed to take forever and my hearing stared to get quieter I knew it wouldn't be much longer until I hit the deck but as soon as I got outside and sat down in the cool air I was fine. Try to eat regular meals and always keep a snack or drink with you.... easy for me to do because I have a toddler in a push chair but even just a couple of biscuits and a carton of juice just incase you start to feel it coming on again

I have Vasovagel syncope so this used to happen a lot to me! My attacks come on when I've overheated or rushed about but mostly it's a response to pain (blood tests are fun!)

I would frequently go dizzy and faint and it got worse in my first pregnancy. Now I know what it is, I can control it and so far I've had no issues in this pregnancy or since diagnosis.
Keep food on you at all times, I keep a banana in my bag. Salty snacks like peanuts help too, if it's low blood pressure. I find I get dizzy less if I'm hydrated, so try to up your water intake.

If you feel light headed, sit or try to lay down on your left side and wait for the feeling to pass. Obviously you can't always lay down so I find somewhere stable like a wall or lamppost and stand leaning against it with my eyes closed, breathing steadily and evenly.

It's scary when it happens but it's manageable and you may not have another spell at all!

fainting is apparently related to the blood vessels expanding in preparation for more blood in your system towards the end of the pregnancy. so if you already have low blood pressure... might happen that you faint.
happened to me as well, only once so far (am 8 weeks now). it was after a long and very tiring day, woke up at night feeling queasy, went to the toilet and fainted there

Oh gosh, it's scary isn't it?! I think I was hot, tired and not really eaten properly so was probably a bad combination.

I sit on the floor alot in pregnancy! Im always feeling sick faint and dizzy but i just sit down quick before i actually faint.

If i go out to the shops or a supermarket then i can guarantee at least once you will see me sat on the floor in a shop aisle!

It happened to me a fair bit in pregnancy and recently it randomly happened (not pregnant). Doctor said low blood pressure likely cause. Agree with advice you gave been given. Scary feeling!

I have low BP, this is something i am concerned about when i hopefully conceive.... I am worried i will be fainting all the time!!
I also faint related to pain - i have fainted in every blood test i've ever had which is highly annoying

I pass out all the time and it's horrid:-( each time an ambulance has been called but then just get told its low blood pressure and there's nothing they can do:-( I find that it's normally when I get too warm or if I'm stood up for a while. One of the paramedics told me if you start to feel faint then to wiggle your toes and fingers and it helps to get the blood flowing, really helps for me! Make sure you have eaten and drink lots of water :-) xxxx
