If you got a 3D scan, how was the experience?

I'm 28 wks with #2 (girl). With DS1 we just got the 2 NHS scans and up until recently was happy with same for this one but all of a sudden I've had an overwhelming desire to have another scan. Mix of curiosity and reassurance - in 39 but not old enough to have any extra scans. We know it's a girl already. We've been offered an all singing all dancing 3D package for same price as basic one which is more than I wanted (I really don't need a teddy with babies heartbeat in it...) as I just want to see baby again!

What were your experiences? How does it compare to NHS one?

It's amazing!! It's like looking at your baby for real! I had one at 15 weeks, one at 21 weeks and one at 28 weeks. The second two were free on the NHS because my baby has problems and I'm scanned in the unit where they do the 3D scans so they often just give me a quick glance and a few pics after one of my scans. My 28 week one was best he looks very chubby on there but the other ones were fab also. My private one at 15 weeks was lovely because she took the time to get real good pics and spoke to us a lot

Great with my first, amazing pictures but a disaster with this one. Didn't know I had an anterior placenta (wasn't mentioned at my scan) and the baby's face was hiding behind it so we didn't get to see anything. Went back to try again but no change so a waste of money :(

I've had 3 private scans this pregnancy. 8 weeks, 16 and 25. They were lovely however we didn't get great 4d pictures at 25 weeks as he wouldn't move his hands and arms away from his face x

Had one at 28 weeks and loved it. It was a bit tricky due to anterior placenta and baby having its foot in front of its face but a walk around and be rolling over onto my side got some good images.

We had one at 29 weeks and loved it! Luckily for us, baby was in a good position so we got some lovely pictures. Other people there did have to rebook for another day as baby was badly positioned though.
They recorded the whole scan and put it on USB so we have it to share with family too.
