Heart rate

I'm panicking so much right now! I'm at work and need some reassurance Sad it sounds silly to base everything on this but dr goggle has scared me. I wear a Fitbit HR and I was looking back over my heart rate since I found out and it's steadily went up, about 10 more bpm. The last 4 days it's went back down to about 67 which is what I was before my bfp. Does that mean there is something wrong? I don't have any sickness but my boobs are still sore. That's the only symptom I really have to go by. Trying not to burst into tears at work so any advice will be much appreciated :)

Didn't want to read and run. I don't really know anything about changes in heart rate during pregnancy - you don't say how many weeks pregnant you are but my symptoms have changed weekly!

If you're worried call your midwife, but otherwise maybe stop wearing your Fitbit for a few weeks? It seems like it's adding to your stress, which won't be helping Flowers

Chat to your Dr or midwife if your worried, but if you haven't had any extreme pain or bleeding I wouldn't be too worried. Symptoms change and come and go. I have never had sickness in pregnancy, My boobs were crazy sore with my DD but not that bad in this pregnancy(32 weeks). I'm sure all is fine x

I got panicked by this too. Heartrate went up then from around 8 weeks I went down. Felt tired but no other symptoms. Read various horror stories online. 12 week scan was fine, sickness kicked in shortly after and heartrate has gone up again (though not as much). I concluded that heart rate fluctuates (mine will go down if I spend day on sofa as opposed to out and about) and fitbits aren't 100% accurate anyway so getting hung up on what they say isn't wise.

Thanks all! Going to call my midwife today just to be safe. I'm definitely taking it off and putting it away for a while. It's crazy how much you can panic over the small stuff! My doctor didn't even mention heart rate at my first app so holding on to that. Xx

My resting heartrate is about 60 (this is genetic as I am not remotely fit!) and when I was pregnant it was often 80-90. It does go up as your body is working hard, making more blood etc. Plus as soon as you start thinking about it and worrying about it, it goes up even more! When DD arrived, mine went straight back down.

I took my blood pressure and hr about 6 times every morning when I was about 10-15 weeks pg. Then I realised that they aren't even accurate for pregnant women... don't be me!!

My advice would be: if you start off stressing about the little things at the beginning, you will be in a state by the time the baby arrives. Just try and relax as much as you can. If you are concerned, get the dr to check it out, and to follow what a wise midwife said to me: "if I ain't worried, you shouldn't be worried!"

Congratulations on your pregnancy. I am sure you will look back at this post this time next year and laugh, just as I laugh at my obsessive blood pressure monitoring Grin

Mine went up to 120 a couple of weeks ago at about 7 wks. Was unpleasant but all seems to still be well now

Sorry that should have been 104. Stupid phone Smile

There was a chap on reddit a while ago who asked why his wife's hr was so high and it turned out she was pregnant!

Also, I had absolutely no symptoms whatsoever, apart from no periods. At your stage I panicked nonstop and was desperate to feel sick. Now I realise how lucky it was! Symptoms really don't mean anything.

As far as I am aware - this is the expected pattern
Happened to me too
Went up at approx implantation and then settled at 8-9 weeks
Something about progesterone apparently
I took a screenshot at the time and was thinking it would be good to get a few more and write it up

Thanks everyone for all the advice and stories. Can't get through to the midwife but feeling a little bit more relaxed about it all now. Trying to stay as stress free as possible which isn't easy haha!! Thanks again xx
