So, I split with my ex a few weeks back and since haven't been eating all that much, my eating was extreme and definitely too much!

However my daily food intake is

2 pieces of toast just butter at 8am

1 pot of porridge at 12pm

1 pot of porridge at 3pm

1 sandwich with crisps

This is okay now right??

the rare day maybe but wheres the fruit, veg or protein??

CatchingBabies · 08/12/2016 15:30

Definitely not enough variety, you need to have plenty of fruit and veg and increase your protein intake.

GreenGoblin0 · 08/12/2016 19:12

you don't need a midwife to tell you that that diet is wholly inadequate

INeedNewShoes · 08/12/2016 19:22

This is not a healthy way to eat.

Your diet is lacking in important nutrients.

BreatheDeep · 08/12/2016 19:24

That diet isn't good for someone who isn't pregnant let alone someone who is growing a baby. You need protein, vegetables etc.

Notmyweek2 · 08/12/2016 19:27

I've just come to slimming world & found out I've lost 8lbs in 3 weeks Sad

I had some veg for tea tonight & will be taking some to work with me tomorrow

OP, do you think it would be a good idea for you to see your GP? There's obviously more this and it sounds as though you might be struggling.

Heirhelp · 08/12/2016 19:34

That diet is not acceptable on slimming world. It does not look like you are using your a choices and there is no speed food (fruit and veg) which should make up a third of your diet and there are no P foods (protein). Are you doing slimming world through a class therefore your midwife will have to have given her permission for you to do and you will have extra health extras.

BreatheDeep · 08/12/2016 19:38

Oh, you're doing slimming world. Are they aware you're pregnant? Is your midwife aware you're doing slimming world?

redspottydress · 08/12/2016 19:40

This is definitely not varied enough. How many weeks are you?

PossumInAPearTree · 08/12/2016 19:46

I'm a midwife though like others have said you don't need to be a midwife to say that's not a balanced diet.

It's very carb heavy and not enough nutrients, vitamins, fresh food, calcium.

The problem with carbs is they don't fill you up, don't provide much goodness and you're starving and miserable. You actually need more fat content to fill you up and then you don't snack as much. But healthy fats so I don't mean chocolate and crisps but meat, avocado, cheese, yoghurts, nuts, eggs. That and lots of veg and some fruit.

I'd certainly recommend you

PossumInAPearTree · 08/12/2016 19:47

I'd certainly recommend you take pregnacare type supplement and talk to your midwife for support.

I'm sorry your relationship has broken down, have you got real life support?

Notmyweek2 · 08/12/2016 20:55

Thanks all, I've taken everything you've all said on board & honestly I'm not being stupid intentionally...my appetite just seems to have vanished, I've still be getting a bit of morning nausea too which doesn't help the situation, in the past I'd have jumped with joy from losing 8lbs however il be honest, I was simply ashamed!
