How could pregnancy affect my kidney problems? (hydronephrosis)

A few months after my lg was born (she is 23 months) it was picked up during a scan for gallstones (gallstones are sorted out) that I have hydronephrosis on my right kidney. It does drain, but slowly, the ureter is narrow and partly obstructed. I had absolutely no problems with it during pregnancy. Last year I had quite a lot of pain with it, a few kidney infections. This year the last bout of major pain was in july, last infection January, since then just inconsistent aches really.
I've been waiting for a stent to be put in since may 2015. We've put off trying for a baby because of this, but I still don't have a date which is ridiculous and my husband and I have decided that we don't really want to wait much longer, we'd have to wait for the operation date, wait 6 months for removal, which could take us to more than a year before we can ttc. Extremely frustrated and fed up with it all. I feel like my life is on hold.
My gp said she is happy for us to ttc now but I want more information on the risks so we can make an informed decision. I'm willing to go through a difficult pregnancy for myself but do not want risk to the baby. Does anyone here have any experience/advice? I've tried to get in touch with my consultant who is never there and never calls back. He is meant to call me next week.
