Did you keep your positive pregnancy test?

As it says - did you keep your positive test(s) as a 'memento' or bin it?

(I still have mine from more than three years ago, wondering whether it is weird!)

Yes I kept 2 tests, one from my mc and one from this current pregnancy.
Binned the other 20 I did for this current pregnancy though Blush I couldn't quite believe I was pregnant again less than 4 weeks after a miscarriage

Nikki2ol6 · 06/12/2016 10:22

Yes! I made each of my children a baby box and inside is the positive test, scan photos, their belly button clip and hospital bands and their tiny baby outfits and a couple of vests

Helbelle75 · 06/12/2016 10:36

Yep. I have the one from my first pregnancy (MMC) and about 15 from the current one. I couldn't quite believe I was pregnant, so did loads! I will keep them. We've waited so long for a family that everything is precious.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 06/12/2016 11:44

Looks like I am in good company! Grin

Although motivated by being encouraged that this is 'not weird' I was going to put the positive tests in our box of tat we can't throw away memory box. And I now can't find the one from my current pregnancy which has been kicking round the bathroom for months!

Nope. I'd weed on it.

harveyyspecter · 06/12/2016 16:59

I kept mine but was gutted when the digital display disappeared. Still kept it though

NewNMember · 22/02/2022 00:54

@Roomba
Thanks for your answer. What did the pregnacy test look like after a couple of years? Are there still any lines?
Thank you so much!
Have a good day.

DoucheCanoe · 22/02/2022 01:00

No, wouldn't have occurred to me tbh.

I'm not one to get sentimental about "things" though so memory boxes and stuff are not on my radar.

Floralnomad · 22/02/2022 01:11

No , but we also haven’t kept teeth or anything else either .

Suzyinthesummertime · 22/02/2022 01:34

Yes but it was a clear blue one and the display is gone now 🙁 still have a couple of strip tests though

Strokethefurrywall · 22/02/2022 01:59

Yep, kept mine! 11 year old pee stick languishing in a box somewhere!

LimeSegment · 22/02/2022 02:11

I did but when I looked at it a few months later it had gone a gross yellow colour (makes sense I guess). So I tossed it.

Hangthetowels · 22/02/2022 05:41

No, I chucked it straight away.... I have the child as a memento 😬 it's just clutter

Roomba · 25/02/2022 13:28

@NewNMember - sorry, missed your question before. Still got them (now almost 17 yrs & 10 yrs later) in a memory box and they look the same as they did half an hour after I did them. Still two strong pink lines, they haven't faded as far as I can tell.

Xsarajv · 12/10/2022 10:44

Does a positive pregnancy test ever fade?

NameChange30 · 12/10/2022 10:53

I've still got both mine, DC1 is 5 and DC2 is 2 Grin
Silly really but can't quite bring myself to throw them away. As a PP said it's a momentous thing to find out you're pregnant, so maybe it's that.

ancienthouse · 12/10/2022 10:55

I've got a box full of them...
I threw out the positive tests from my miscarriage though as they made me sad.

Redrosesandsunsets · 12/10/2022 10:56

i didn’t keep them all but after a pregnancy loss, when the new pregnancy came along, I decided to keep the test. I still have it tucked away and my child turned 18 this year.

ancienthouse · 12/10/2022 10:56

oops. zombie thread. @Xsarajv mine haven't faded in 4 years. Maybe it depends on the test. Mine are FRERs. I think the boots one I did faded quite quickly.

theDudesmummy · 12/10/2022 10:58

OK, zombie thread, but not as "zombie" as my pregnancy test from October 2008, which, yes, I still have! You can still see the lines on mine.

stormelf · 12/10/2022 10:59

With dd1 I had a blood test and was just phoned an hour later to confirm so didn't have an actual test. I didn't keep tests with the other two as I didn't have on for first so didn't see the point

Izzywhizzyisverybusy · 12/10/2022 10:59

I photographed mine and kept them. I didn’t think it through though and didn’t do a line test, just the ones that say ‘pregnant + time’. So after a while they switched off and I threw them away then reluctantly!

Xsarajv · 12/10/2022 11:34

I have a clear blue test! From my miscarriage I just want to keep it for keepsake for a memorial box

AutumnScream · 12/10/2022 11:39

Ive kept all mine from my miscarriage and my current pregnancy. I like to look back on them now and again and definitely will enjoy the memories when im old and my baby is grown. I am sentimental.

I only chucked the digital ones after the display ran out.

cultkid · 12/10/2022 11:43

Yep
