I'm 37+3 days and curious to know if anyone else is doing the deed to speed things up?

We were just in the mood but we then remembered it's a tool to bring on labour.

I'm far too uncomfortable for that sort of thing! Might resort to it if nothing is happening soon though.

buckyou · 04/12/2016 17:50

I didn't really do it towards the end but then my midwife friend said that's the only thing that works! So we did it and she came the next morning! I was 11 days over though.

BreatheDeep · 04/12/2016 17:54

Really buckyou? Maybe I'll pounce on DH when he's finished night shifts to get things going!

AprilShowers16 · 04/12/2016 17:57

My midwife told me it was the only thing that would work and she was right! Dtd that night and went into labour the next morning

Dueindecember2016 · 04/12/2016 18:21

This was the first time we've felt comfortable doing it since about 12 weeks.... long overdue!!!!!!

I'll keep you updated as to what happens.

I'll be watching this thread very closely...can't think how to logistically get this done with such a big bump and SPD and not feel like the most unsexy act ever but if it's successful at bringing on labour might give it a go once I get passed 37 weeks!!

Raiseyourglass26 · 04/12/2016 22:49

I managed up to the day before I got induced (38+6) but it wasn't easy for the last week of so

suspiciousofgoldfish · 04/12/2016 22:54

Yes sex and a long walk does the trick.

mortificado · 04/12/2016 22:55

My midwife said to jump DP after she had left to give me a sweep! (We was at home!) it worked! 6 hours later he was born!

LifeLong13 · 04/12/2016 23:06

Oh sweet mother of Mary you ladies are brace! I so didn't feel like it and my DH said it would be like moving the sofa.

So we argued instead and she arrived a week late Wink

Shadowboy · 05/12/2016 05:27

I tried at 38 weeks. Nothing happened!!

livelyredjellybean · 05/12/2016 09:52

My DP has been quite willing to help out with this every day for the past week...! I am 39+4 and still nothing though Envy

Popskipiekin · 05/12/2016 09:55

Haha we've tried too! 39+1 today, regular sex and long walks and nothing yet. Guess it only helps when your body is actually ready.

Dueindecember2016 · 05/12/2016 10:35

Seeing as DP actually wanted to give it a go, I might suggest it regularly until I do go into labour Smile I can't imagine him saying no haha.

Sex will work if you have lots of it and make sure your DH deposits his swimmers in you I'm 37+4 and I have enjoyed my sex all the way through and still jump on my dp regularly he never complains lol enjoy

SeashellHoarder · 08/12/2016 10:16

Go for it! It beats cleaning the floor in your hand and knees or the other old wives tales!

Dueindecember2016 · 08/12/2016 10:56

The sex didn't work but I'm hopeful that the massage I had yesterday will help.

Who knows!

Anyone else on this thread due any time soon?

HeadElf · 08/12/2016 11:18

I had sex all the way through my twin pregnancy until about 36 weeks when I was admitted to hospital for pre eclampsia and then didn't again until 10 days post c section.

I found it easiest on my hands and knees, or in a very reclined reverse cowgirl Grin
