Boy or Girl?

I recently had my 20 week scan and the sonographer was very technical with the scan. At the end she asked if we wanted to know the gender and she said in her opinion it was a girl but this was only her opinion. Is it worth getting a private gender scan done to confirm or is her opinion right?

That's what mine said. Think they have to say it just to cover their backs but to be honest it's nearly always pretty obvious, even my husband & I could tell before she told us. If you really want to know for sure a 2nd opinion wouldn't hurt.

They have to say that as no scan is 100% correct for sex. Also it's less likely for them to say girl when it's actually a boy than the other way round, if that makes sense. I guess a private scan depends on how certain you want to be. We've been told boy at 3 scans (20w, 28w growth scan and private 4d scan) now, so I'm pretty certain!

I would go with what they said. If it was a boy it would be obvious. My husband saw right away with our last 2. I had to go for a growth scan the other week and she asked if I knew what I was having I said no so she said better look away then incase.
