Ladies, I hope you can share your experiences.

I met my lovely DH in my late thirties and after we got married immmediately tried for a baby. Three months later I was overjoyed to be pregnant.

However, this week I had a mmc which I discovered at the 12 week scan. It was my first pregnancy and doctors have said "it is one of those things". No explanation just a shrug of the shoulders.

I wanted to ask, have any other ladies had pgs to full term after a first pregnancy mcs? Would especially love to hear from older ladies like myself. I would also welcome hearing from women who haven't had children, so I can get an overall view.

I do want to try again but feel as though at my age I have to prepare for all eventualities.

I can only tell you my experiences. I had 3 pregnancies after I turned 40. 2 viable pregnancies. One mmc.
Miscarriage is sadly very common. Keep positive, good luck

Yes 2 mc & one healthy pregnancy at 41. Keep trying and be kind to yourself.

Yes sadly common as older you are the quality of eggs get less and they say mc is mother natures way of stopping a preg that's isn't variable /would have problems :(

Tho never nice 💐💐

Good news you got preg fast for your age

If nothing happens in 6mths I would consider ivf as to be blunt age isn't on your time

43yr and 23w preg with first preg. No mc as never got preg in 10yrs ttc - but took 5 private ivf to get here

Good luck

You just have to hunker down and keep trying I'm afraid. I had my first problem free pregnancy at 36/37, then an early miscarriage at 38, a non viable pregnancy at 39 that went nowhere and a heart breaking MMC at 40 where the foetus was tested and found to have Downs.

I then conceived my beautiful, perfect DS thre months later and gave birth a week before my 41st birthday. He is now 10 months and napping.

I will tell you what my consultant said to me. If you can fall pregnant you have a good chance of having a baby so keep trying.

I had mc Nov last year at 10wks (I was 39), and then became pregnant again in March due tomorrow!

Don't give up hope.
Good luck. x

1st pg was mmc at 12wks. Big horrible shock. Had no idea it was so normal and so common- which it is- so you have my every sympathy, OP!

I was in my 20s and went onto have 3 full term pregnancies with 3 healthy DCs. I realise you'll be more anxious at 39, but a mmc could have happened at 29 and is not indicative of any problems. You conceived, which is great news, and mc is par for the course when trying for babies, I'm afraid.

Mum friend of mine had her DC1 at 36, then struggled for DC2 at 39. Had one v early mc, then a mmc, then got her DC2- think she was 40 at conception, 41 at the birth. Just took a bit longer. Don't panic yet!

I have suffered four mc and am now 34 weeks pregnant at age 39! After fourth mc I had tests done which showed a blood clotting disorder. As a result I am injecting with Clexane for this pregnancy. Don't give up! 💐

MMC at 8 weeks when I was 39, devastated. Seven months later, just past what would have been my due date, I conceived on my 40th birthday and now have a two year old daughter.

I'm also eight weeks pregnant, and hoping to to have another successful pregnancy. I'll be 43 by the time it's born.

No one is more surprised at my good fortune than me. I didn't meet my partner until I was 37 and had pretty much given up on the idea of being a mother. My mmc knocked me sideways at the time, but it is completely possible that you will conceive again. Good luck.

Hi, I'm 38 and 28 weeks pregnant following 5 IVFs - first ended in mmc at 8 weeks, next two failed, fourth was mc at 7 weeks and 5th is now wriggling around inside me. It's hard to carry on, but I'm so glad we did. Miscarriages are very common, but the fact you fell pregnant quickly is a good thing. Good luck and take care.

I found I was pregnant for the first time on my 40th birthday. I miscarried at 8 weeks and we went on holiday a few weeks later. When we came back, I was pregnant again and gave birth one month before my 41st birthday.

Life is strange. You never know what will happen.
