Hi ladies. I'm currently 5 weeks pregnant, I miscarried my first pregnancy in July this year at 7 weeks. Today I've been having not pain but like a dull ache to my lower left side of my stomach and also a dull ache in my lower back paired with the odd cramp. About a hour ago I went the toilet and when I wiped there was like a light pink Mucous after a few wipes it went and after another wee before there was nothing, I am so worried because of my previous miscarriage and I'll be devastated if this happens again. Can anyone advise if this is normal or should I be worried? I can't really do nothing because I'm not even 7 weeks to check if my baby is ok, thanks for any advice X

Hi, you need to ring your midwife, she will book you in for emergency scan at your hospital. I had brown discharge at 8 weeks and then had my scan a few days later to be told I had a MMC.
It might not be that, but you need to ring your midwife to tell her, as she will book you in for a scan to make sure everything is ok.

ImaLannister · 02/12/2016 19:16

Just read that your 5 weeks...Not sure if they will scan you, I don't know what the minimum number of weeks is for anything to show on the scan. Ring your midwife anyway and tell her. She will advise you on what steps to take.

They won't usually scan you before six weeks as they can't see much. Call the early pregnancy unit at the hospital and see what they say.
I've just had a miscarriage, I know how awful it is when you see blood. But try not to panic yet. Some women bleed in pregnancy and deliver healthy babies

I've had 2 MMC and am pregnant for a third time. I had some pink discharge at 5+2 and my EPU booked me in for a scan at when I was going to be 6 weeks. So it is definitely worth asking.

I hope everything is ok for you this time. It is terrifying being pregnant after MC.

Ookmybanana · 02/12/2016 19:32

Gemmaxo, I just wanted to hand hold as I'm at 5 weeks myself and have also just discovered some blood. I don't know what's normal and what's not. I'm scared I'm overreacting at what could be nothing at all. I just don't know what to do. Flowers

ImaLannister · 02/12/2016 19:36

Isn't it just Emily. I had a MMC then a Chemial pregnancy...when will we get a break from all this.

Gemmaxo · 02/12/2016 21:29

Try not to worry Gemma. Worrying won't do anything, Altho I know it's very hard. If it's any consolation a friend of mine bled all the way during her pregnancy, she made countless trips to the hospital, only to be told baby was fine every time and doing well. Strange! Pregnancy is a very complex thing. The stats for loosing one is 1 in 4 before the 12 weeks, which I was quite shocked at to be honest as I think that's quite high. So it's more common than we think, altho that doesn't make the situation any easier for us trying women.
But any bleeding needs looking at. Get in touch with EPU (early pregnancy unit) at hospital or call the midwife. Or go to your GP as you need to try and find out what is going on.
So shit being a woman isn't it! Shock

LadyFanjo · 04/12/2016 19:24

Any news, Gemma? Hope things are okay!

boatdancer · 04/12/2016 19:28

I have bleeding and cramps just like that through both of my pregnancies and it was ok. Two healthy babies. It's super scary though and I hope everything is ok!

Gemmaxo · 04/12/2016 23:50

Doctor thinks I hsve miscarried, had my bloods done and my hcg came back at 66, I'm so devastated. I have to go back tomorrow for more bloods to see if it has risen which I highly doubt as the bleeding is heavier now Sad heartbroken
