Hi All.
Due to severe stress, my appetite has completely vanished!

This has been going on for a week now, the most I've been having is 2 pieces of toast & a sandwich at tea time. After the first mouthful I'm not hungry and struggle to force it!

I lose my appetite when I am stressed too, how far along are you?

Notmyweek · 02/12/2016 18:36

I'm 21 weeks pregnant, I just can't seem to eat!

I'm worried what effect it'll have on my baby

I couldn't eat when pregnant. I lost weight. I made sure the little food I did eat was really nutritious. I tended to make fruit shakes and add in vegetables and my multi vitamin on bad days.

In the short term, baby will be ok. Do try to eat nutritious food as far as possible, and have small amounts. Could you do something like cut some cheese slices in the morning and then nibble on those? Or take dry cereal with you in a lunchbox, and again, nibble on that? Or pancakes or something? Basically anything can nibble on is good, and if it's healthy, then even better. Drinks can be a good way to get vitamins if you're not eating much too - smoothies etc, or even yogurt drinks. And multivitamins every day.

It's worth seeing your GP for advice as well. And obviously eliminate stress far as possible (which I appreciate you might not be able to do).

However, the baby will take what it needs from you, so try not to worry too much.
