Signing off work with illness - made to start mat leave?

My GP is about to sign me off work for a week, possibly two, due to sickness and dizziness. I'm 25 weeks. I realise that there's a point at which your employer can insist that you start mat leave - surely it's not this early? I suspect it's around the 30 week mark, I was sure someone on here would know. Thanks in advance :)

It's a pregnancy related illness in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy so you are fine and it can't be started early yet

Phew - thanks!

Yes it's 36 weeks. Your ML starts at 36 weeks if your sickness is pregnancy-related. So you are OK for a while!

Hope you feel better soon, rest did wonders for my sickness Flowers

hurrah - over 10 weeks to be just 'ill'. I think you're right about rest - it won't make it go away, but it will be more manageable.
