Hi all,
I just had my 20 week scan. Baby is looking fine but the sonographer brought in a colleague to check my uterine wall as apparently it looks more vascular than usual. Usually you would have a small vascular/veiny patch of tissue behind the placenta where it embeds but I have a huge spread of it. She asked if I'd had any unusual things go on with periods, or fibroids, or operations etc. I have had painful periods and diagnosis of PCOS, plus my cycle prior to this pregnancy ended in miscarriage but nothing else. She said she couldn't tell me what had caused this, and has referred me onto the Fetal Medicine Dep't who'll be in touch.
So, please share any knowledge or experience of this if any of it rings true! I realise I shouldn't worry until I have the expert's opinion but I think any discussion about it is going to help me emotionally until this happens.
