Echo cardiogram help

I'm 20 weeks. At the anomaly scan they discovered that my baby has a persistently fast heart rate. I've been referred for a feral echo cardiogram. Does anyone have any experience of either the scan or a fast heart rate?

Not feral, obviously. Just imagining running madly around a forest while they chase me with the ultrasound wand Grin

My babt has major heart defects which were seen on the 20 week scan and we had a scan 5 days later by cardiac doctors and it took about an hour and basically they just zoomed in on his heart and a few different doctors came in the room and were all talking between their selfs using those words I would never understand so didn't have a clue what they were saying but they had asked before we went in if we could be very patient while they looked and talked and would explain everything at the end. So it was hard to lay there looking at the screen wishing I knew what they were all staring at and talking about. After the scan they took us into a little bereavement room and explained what was wrong and asked if we wanted to continue or end the pregnancy. They also told us we had a very high chance of a chromosome abnormality 1in5. And did we want an amnio to find out. We did and got that done immediately. We met a lot of people after this to talk about what was going to happen when our baby arrives and how his condition will be treated and managed and we were asked 4 times that day if we wanted to end the pregnancy. I'm 35 weeks now and have learnt a lot about his condition and I'm preparing myself for the birth where he will be taken away from me to be stabelised and transferred to a heart hospital. But of course I'm not trying to scare you this is just how it all happened for me. What was your baby's heart rate?

Thank you so much Flowers My baby's heart rate was 180 but so far no structural abnormalities have been seen.
