I had to get this off my chest, after an ugly threat at the hospital.
Today I went for my 12 week scan. I was very nervous but was with my husband for support in the waiting room.
The waiting room was packed with people. Directly behind me was a woman who must have been about 20 weeks pregnant.
She began to make comments about there being too many foreigners at the hospital (forgetting half of the staff were "foreigners") . She then started making fun of the names of people called.
I kept looking behind me at Reception waiting nervously for the Sonographers to call out names, unfortunately this meant I looked in the direction of this woman.
The woman behind me then started to make comments about me, I was too nervous to care. Only when we left after the appointment, my husband told me she said "if that woman keeps looking at me I am going to knock her out!" DH said he was ready to say something if she did say anything directly to me. This woman was with a partner who was equally as charming.
I was shocked and how rude and aggressive she was just because she perceived I may be looking towards her. Especially in a waiting room full of pregnant ladies from a pregnant woman.
Has anyone else had similar experiences? What did you do in these cases? Is it best to ignore?
