6 weeks pregnant, brown spotting very emotional

Hi all!
Im just over 6 weeks pregnant, had blood test last wednesday and saturday and the hcg had more than doubled, plus had a scan and could see the sac. But since sunday when i go to the bathroom i have a slight brown discharge on the paper... the doc says nothing to worry about unless its bright red and alot more but would love to know if others have had this and why? And did everything turn out ok? Today ive been an emotional wreck, must be the hormoes and not a good nights sleep!

Don't panic, it is old blood. Probably implantation bleeding.

I had bright red blood, I had a heametoma. Was told it was touch and go. It reabsorbed. Was so scared. But I have a perfect DD!

I had quite a bit of brown (old) blood with my first pregnancy.
He's 17 now.

I had brown blood discharge every day from 6 weeks to 12 weeks with my third pregnancy. It's very common around my friends.

Pregnancy is current napping. He is 20 months.

I had spotting at 5/6 weeks for 10 days, rang d from brown - pink to almost red. Also had a dark red bleed this weekend after sex. Am 9 weeks and had a scan yesterday that showed heartbeat and everything fine. It's hard but try to stay calm and if it gets worse or the blood is red go to the epu. Good luck!

Went to the docs this morning as had some pinkish red when i wiped. Its not my normal gyno as she wasnt there and he said i need suppository progesterone 'Progeffik' 200mg every 24 hours. I am in Spain so translation is not that great but what i understand it is to prevent a miscarriage. Has anyone else taken this and is it normal?

Yes, they do that here I think, things are slightly different from England. I do find the healthcare excellent here and they don't hold back if they think you are miscarrying they tell you. (They told me, said there was nothing I could do ) so, I would calm down if you can and do exactly what they say. I'm sure it will be fine.

Thanks for the info, with a lot of research, asking around and talks with hubby i have decided that there are too many risks for me. The doctor didnt do any checks to see if i had low progesterone either! Im alergic to some medicines and on the packet it said it contain nut oil which im allergic to aswell, so thats the last thing i need up me lol. Today im back to light brown when i wipe so going to take it easy and let things take its course. I have another blood test tomorrow and scan on wednesday to find out more

I had that with my first pregnancy (DS now nearly two) from 5 weeks until about 9. Found it very worrying, and read up about progesterone supplements etc -- but unless you have been diagnosed with a specific hormonal problem, I don't think there is any evidence that they help. There really is nothing you can do. But the same is true in any pregnancy. Brown spotting makes you more alert to the possibility of miscarriage, but I'm not sure it actually increases the chance (which will be going down every day now).

With my current pregnancy I would have been happy to see the brown spotting instead of gushing bright red blood (from subchorionic hematoma)! But that too settled down (more quickly, actually) and all seems normal now. I know how worrying it is, but truly all you can do is wait out each day being glad still to be pregnant on that day.

I had brown spotting at 8 and 10 weeks with my first pregnancy (22 month old DD is currently napping peacefully) ... When my second pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 6 weeks I had bright red blood which got heavier and turned into clots and eventually I passed the sack. I wouldn't worry unless it turns red, especially if you have already seen a sack and all was in the correct place. Really hope your little bean is a sticky one

Hi all! Thought id update you, well its not good news, monday had a cloud of depression come on and just knew something wasnt right. Went to ER, they couldnt find a heartbeat and my hcg had gone to 37000, following day had risen but only to 40000. Had 2nd opinion today and i am miscarrying 😢 Will see over next few days if body sorts itself as not bleeding much and hardly any cramping if not will see doc about a D&C
