Sleeping positions while pregnant

As sleeping is hard enough during pregnancy, everyone I've spoken to have told me it's not good for me to sleep on my back but I simply just can't sleep on my sides. I'm 31 weeks now so coming up to the end but any suggestions on how to sleep?

I just tried to train myself to sleep on my sides. I got a pregnancy pillow to put between my legs that made it a bit more comfortable. You can lay on your side and turn your head and outer arm back a bit so it feels a bit different. I would still sometimes wake up on my back but the thought of cutting the blood supply either to me or the baby (can't remember which it is now!) always had me turning back pretty quickly.

Having same problem. 22w and sleep on my back. I start off on my side and I wake on my back

Checked with mw and my consultant and he said don't worry if are on your back - yes the placenta pushes down on baby (which is why they advise on side and ideally left side) but if you were that uncomfortable you would wake up and naturally turn

I slept on my back all the way through pg1 and 2 and have continued to do so this time round. I try to sleep on my sides but have really bad pelvic pain so to be honest however I can get some sleep is how I'm going lie!!
As above you will wake up if you/baby is in any danger so try not to worry about it Flowers

Just sleep on your back. I'm still managing to do so at 30 weeks I would be a zombie otherwise. I've been told that if it is causing any problems you will feel uncomfortable and move any way.

I have a massive u shaped pregnancy pillow and lots of normal pillows to prop myself up a bit so I'm not completely flat.

I still sleep on my back with my arms above my head. A Boppy pillow helps me to sleep on my side too and I put it between my legs.

Try this...

I've found the chair type one very good.

Pregnancy pillow all the way! I got mine cheap on sale. Just try and not move too much as you will find yourself getting restless which in turn causes you to stop going to sleep.
