I've had 3 ( one for a bleed and 2 suspected eptopic).
The first was at 6 weeks 2 and there was small blob with a flickering heart beat. Sadly that pregnancy ended at 11 weeks.
The second was at 6 weeks 4 days ( suspected ectopic) fetal pole and flickering heartbeat all in the right place. That tiny 0.3cm dot is a toddler now!
The last was pregnacy of unknown location and showed nothing. The led to repeat scans and blood tests before it was found to be an unusual ectopic a week or so later.
Early scans are bit of mixed blessing, in ideal world a they will see a healthy heart beat and measurement thatnmatch ( give or take a day or two) your dates. In this case the chance of going to term is close to 80%.
But things are so tiny and things change in a just a day or too. You might see egg sac and no heart beat or nothing at all. In that case in doesn't mean things will end badly but there then comes a horrible limbo while you wait for a follow up.
All I can say is in light of my own experiences Id opt for a scan. Seeing those flickering hearts was magical. In the case of my last pregnancy it let me know that my pregnancy wasn't viable much sooner than nature did. I had strong morning sickness but very odd spotting. I found knowing easier than the 'feeling something was wrong' and the scan speed up that process for me.
Wishing you lots of luck for a healthy happy prgnancy.
