Feeling down

Hi,

This is my first pregnancy and I'm nearly 19 weeks. I've been suffering from awful sickness for the last 11/12 weeks. I can barely eat, I'm not sleeping well and the tablets the doctor has given me are not helping at all. It's all really starting to get to me and I just feel sad all of the time, work is not helping at the moment as it's really stressful and one person in particular is making it particularly unpleasant for me so life just feels really overwhelming at the moment.
I feel like the worst person in the world because I keep feeling like I made a mistake and I shouldn't have got pregnant if I can't handle it, there are so many deserving people out there that would do anything to have a baby and I'm here feeling a bit resentful. I feel like if I can't cope with this then I'm going to be the worst mother in the world.
Has anyone else been through this sort thing? Does it get better? Am I just being silly and need to pull my socks up?

I had a terrible time with DS - sickness, hormones and an awful bad back. Wish I'd joined a PANDAS group during pregnancy to help me understand.

I had different things at different stages.

DS is now 2.5, healthy and loved. And even though pregnancy and a bit after we're rubbish, he's worth it. So much so I'm going through it again! Keep going, one day at a time Flowers

I am pretty much where you are, 19 weeks too and the sickness and nausea is still there, most smells are awful and generally just feel ill a lot of the time. On the plus I have had a few good days which I hope continue! I was struck down with norovirus a couple of weeks ago, that floored me and I ended getting fluids in A&E, I was then back to my worst (week 8/9) sickness. I've cried a lot and found it hard to feel excited in a big way when I felt like crap all the time. On the plus though my bump is more bump like now (had a little tummy flab already!) and I can feel those flutters/bubbles so much which makes me smile.

Don't think you are being silly, you feel the way you feel. My friend told me the worst the pregnancy the better you cope with a baby!

I'm 20 weeks and have had a terrible week. I'm suffering terrible insomnia and just couldn't stop crying yesterday. I think it's hormones and exhaustion. Feel a lot better for a day on the sofa today and lots of rest.
Completely get the stress at work thing as well. Hideous. Am counting down the days.
