My 1st pregnancy with my son had to be induced at 37 weeks due to getting OC. I think I started getting the symptoms around 35weeks (severe itching) I am currently 31+4 and wondering if it will reoccur around the same time......if at all. Has anyone else had it again with a 2nd pregnancy?

No. I had it with my first but not my second.

They say there is a 60-90% chance of reoccurrence. I'm just waiting for it to happen again too, my midwife has been quite good at checking my liver function whenever ive been worried though.

I'm worrying about things either way. If I do get it....I remember how horrible it was. And then if I don't I wont get induced and I'm terrified of not having control over when I go into labour.

I didn't have OB in my first pregnancy so spontaneous labour. An induced labour at 38 weeks because of OB. I was only in established labour for just over 2 hours with the induction. 12 hours with spontaneous. But I preferred spontaneous onset! I was so nervous before my waters were broken with the induction and I'm unsure why! Good luck either way!

I had it with my first and it went undiagnosed until I was in labour (despite me repeatedly begging my midwife for help, another story!). I ended up with it in my second and this time I was on the phone to the ante natal team at my hospital who were amazing. They took blood samples and it was confirmed. I was given piriton which really helped and although I was induced at 37 weeks, I was so well looked after and felt completely in control. We had a beautiful birth experience and everything was just so calm. It did appear slightly later this time and just because you had it the first time doesn't mean you will get it again but if the dreaded scratching starts at least you know what to do. All the very best.
