Hi all, I know this sounds ridiculous but I'll really not sure... I know hot hot baths aren't ok, but are baths generally ok very early on...bit worried about lots of water up there interfering perhaps?

Yes they are fine, even hottish ones. Your cervix is sealed shut with a mucus plug. Enjoy!

Water won't get up there, haha! Just not too hot as pregnant women are more likely to faint so that's a risk, but a nice normal, not too hot bath is fine.

It's absolutely fine! Even hot baths tend to be okay really as they cook down and so don't generally raise your internal body temperature which is why they're advised against sometimes. The only concern really is hot tubs that remain at the same temperature as they can raise your core temperature but my midwife told me even they were fine as long as I got out and took a break every ten minutes! (I never had the luxury of using a hot tub during pregnancy anyway though!)

I used to have a hot bath every night to ease early pregnancy cramps and my children are fine

Hermetically sealed Grin

You're fine having a bath or sex or whatever you like really. Try not to worry - women have been having babies a long time and our bodies are designed for this. You won't hurt the baby through any reasonable activity.

Thank you all! I'm looking forward to a long soak tomorrow Grin
