Where to buy nursery furniture?

Where are you buying or bought your nursery furniture from? And what are you getting? Started to look and the 3 piece sets are so expensive on some sites

All you really need is somewhere for the baby to sleep, and you can very easily buy a second hand crib or cot on Facebook or eBay.

Changing tables are handy if you have a bad back so don't want to bend down to the floor, but they're only used for a year maximum, so again you can easily buy them second hand.

Not sure what the third piece of a three piece set would even be TBH!

We've looked at it more as a child's room rather than a baby's room. Have shifted some of our old stuff some furniture we already had into there and then bought some storage tubs etc. for a toddler/child from Ikea. Haven't got a changing table, everyone told me not to bother, guess I could put baby on top of the chest of drawers in there if needed. I love the photos in the magazines of the lovely serene nursery but feel the room is more likely to be kicked, thumped, pooped on used by an older baby or toddler so haven't bothered.

We brought standard furniture that's grown with our children. Honestly think of a one or two year old needs not a babies. So book and toys storage.... Clothes storage.

We are buying ours from eBay. Lots of great good quality nursery furniture going for very little money within 25mile radius. We plan to buy a cot bed which can be used till they are 4 to 5 yrs.

I think nursery ranges cost a lot of money. We just bought a cotbed we liked and a chest of drawers from ikea which matched the room. Changed both children on a mat on the floor.

I got solid wood chat of drawers and wardrobe and hanging real from eBay for sixty quid. I sanded it all down and painted it a gorgeous sage green colour! Is all larger furniture that will grow with baby. I love it! It's fourth baby and have done similar with previous children. They still have their "nursery" furniture now! Except my eldest (7) who has the wardrobe, but has our old chest of drawers. I bought a cot bed new with my first, which has moved down children...... Although could have just got a cot as never had big enough age gaps for it to make it to the bed conformation! I am personally not sure it's worth spending loads on special nursery furniture as it can be quite poor quality for the money!

My son is almost two and 99th percentile and still using a changing table I paid £15 from facebook.
We bought normal chest of drawers and wardrobe from ikea. We looked at baby furniture but felt it was overpriced.

Not sure what the point of 'nursery' furniture is tbh. Yes you need a cot but a lot of the sets are cot, chest of drawers and a wardrobe. You can easily buy a 'normal' chest of drawers and wardrobe and then a cot. That's what we did (well we had a chest of drawers already) with a changing mat as part of the cot. It's useful to have some toy storage and maybe a bookcase too or somewhere to store books as they accumulate a lot! #2 is on the way and we just bought a chest of drawers from IKEA (cheap one) that I'm going to paint and order new drawer knobs for.

We bought cotbed from JL that converts to toddler bed, and changing unit. Both relatively cheap and great quality. Have built in wardrobes, but if we hadn't I think adult ones are best bet for long term. Toddlers trash furniture so I wouldn't bother spending loads!

We bought stuva wardrobes from ikea, as 'adult' ones were too wide for the space.

There's a cot bed, nursing chair, Ivan shelf set and a trofast storage unit in there.

I was offered loan of a changing table, but couldn't fit it in after we changed the radiator.

Combination of ikea and mothercare here.

Have gotten a good quality Cotbed off eBay for £5. Local Facebook baby groups are good too

Got a really nice changing table from John Lewis and only about £60 - good storage space underneath and easy to assemble!

We got the mamas and papas ocean oak cotbed, change table and wardrobe of eBay for about 350.. Its less than 2 years old and came with the receipts.. They had paid around 1500! Were looking out for the bookcase and tall drawers now!

We bought a cot bed from John Lewis and then the Hermes chest of 8 drawers from Ikea which we put the changing mat on top of. We already had built in wardrobes in the room.

Nursery furniture is a complete waste of money. But normal sized stuff that you actually need.
