36 weeks pregnant, small amount of pinky blood noticed when wiping after having a wee - would this normally lead to having to go into hospital to be checked out or not?

(Baby movements normal earlier in day)

Ring your midwife, it could be a bit of mucous plug coming away - I had this from about 8 months onwards. Always worth a double check for peace of mind though.

Apparently no need to go in.

Just keep an eye on things and call again if more blood, watery discharge, or reduced movements. The midwife was talking a lot about thrush, but I have no idea how you could diagnose that over the phone.

I was quite a nervous pregnancy, I had this at 36 weeks to. I exaggerated it and went in for a bit of monitoring. Everything was fine and I had that baby at 41 weeks.

I suppose I was putting pressure on an already stretched NHS resource, but I really couldn't help myself. I was willing to do pretty much anything to get peace of mind.

Was there any mucus ? It could be your plug coming away

Also yes I spotted when I had thrush at 36 weeks

JosephineMaynard · 13/11/2016 13:56

No mucous. It all seems to have settled down overnight anyway.

Another one here who also bled with thrush too!

I saw a little bit of this last night and am 36 weeks as well. It was so little and movements are still fine so I am going to monitor it today and any more and I will call the midwife, but I am sure she will say it is just worth keeping an eye unless there is more of it.
