Letter about induction

I'm 31 weeks pregnant and got a letter from the obstetrician calling me in for an appointment about planning any possible labour induction on the morning of my due date.

Is that standard? (I'm in Denmark though so maybe it's a Danish thing)

No idea, but my friend lives in Copenhagen - she uses an expat fb page. Might it be worth looking for that and asking there? She's had 2 births there so far.

I've not heard about it from any of the other immigrant mums I know, maybe I'm special!

In the U.K. It is usually dependent on things like the Mother's age, complications and multiple births. Here they will generally let you go up to 2 weeks over due before offering an induction. Unless you are over 40, had any complications or are expecting twins, then it may be earlier. Do they not offer sweeps in Denmark first?

I personally am surprised they are pushing for an induction if none of the above apply to you. An induction is more likely to end in assisted birth e.g forceps
