Has anyone actually had a successful sweep?

I had two unsuccessful sweeps with dc1 and all I seem to read on here is similar experiences.
I'm 40+3 with dc2 and have a midwife appointment where I think she'll offer me a sweep but honestly is it really worth it?

I haven't had a sweep but I reckon it might be worth a go if it means there's a chance you can avoid induction. I've heard 50/50 stories of them either being successful or not but a lot of women have said their labour and contractions were extremely intense after being induced and it can be a stressful process. Then again everyone is different! Good luck FlowersSmile

How did you get on??

I had the most successful sweep ever, went into labour before I had even left the appt (although I was in denial, I thought it was just post-procedure cramps!) Luckily my MIL & FIL erred on the side of caution and they immediately made their way to us (three hour journey) to look after DC1 in the event I WAS in labour, they arrived about an hour before I gave birth! Just in time for FIL to drop us at the (nearby) hospital!
