lol, go on, tell us your diary entry for today!

MarsLady · 12/02/2007 15:28

Can't be arsed with questions... you just fill us in day to day!

And may I say how refreshing it is to know more and more women with more children than me! Sigh................ (That was not a wishful sigh... that was relief!)

EdieMcredie · 12/02/2007 15:29

His name is Nick. And he is annoying.

auntymandy · 12/02/2007 15:38

Wellits a while since I read Emma's diary..maybe she has a new husband now..lets face it he is a wet!!!

My day so far!!!!

Got up at 5.30 with DS4 loaded up the dishwasher..DD had emptied it last night but they dont get the concept that it needs loading again!!! Then I emptied the dryer and loaded it and the same with the washer, Ironed the clothes out of the dryer and a bit off the pile.
I then went on mumsnet to check about todays meetup. DS3 got up.
Went to run the bath for the boys and wake DD and her friend up so they could get ready for their friends birthday outing!!
Bathed boys and put some clothes away (DH slept on) Got boys dressed and myself dressed, made the right noises aboyt DD's clothes and make up!! oh woke DH up as he needed to leave for work NOW!!!
At about 8.20 I went to pick up the little boy I mind, then took DD and 3 of her friends to her other friends! Camr home gave my little ones and mindee breakfast then went to Whacky for mumsnet meetup..it was fab! Especially the bit where one mum said how young I looked for my age!!!
DS3 decided he didnt feel well and fell asleep at 12 and is still asleep now!!
Took mindee back at 1 and went to do supermarket shop. Put all the shopping away and finally sat down to a cup of tea and sandwich and a chat on mumsnet!!!!
Almost time to take DS1 to do his papers (cos I am a softy)...thats it so far!!!!!

I'd forgotten how truly awful Emma's diary was. I had a pregnancy where if it could go wrong, it did. Her and her flippin' Flumpybumpy or whatever it was called drove me mad. I never finished it...bet she had a perfect birth and was home and organised within 36 hours....

auntymandy · 12/02/2007 15:54

He always understood her hormonal moods too..what a poppit!!!!

vixies · 12/02/2007 15:58

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease get your version published and give mums-to-be an option of 'smug, unrealistic nonsense' or the 'tell it as it is' version. I'm loving your diet tips so far.

auntymandy · 12/02/2007 16:00

Make sure you get plenty of rest too.
Very easy when you have other children and a husband that actually goes to work!!

Had quite a relaxing evening.
My mum brother and sil came over to bring things from my mums house as she is moving. So we had coffee and cakes. then a friend called to collect ironing I had done for her.
Ds still not well so we had a cuddle.
DS4 had his tea and fell asleep on my knee so I took him to bed.
I had a little snooze with ds3.
Then came to update you all on my day. Now I think I will go to bed!
DH wont be in till very late, so no understanding chat or back rubbing tonight!!

auntymandy · 12/02/2007 21:49

Well it is so important to have an understanding partner!!!
When you say oh I am so tired today..they reply with so am i!!!
Or when your child wakes at 5.30 they say 'sorry'........'I just couldnt get out of bed'
Wonderful men!!!!

arfishy · 12/02/2007 23:35

A truly awful fictionalised preganancy diary provided to us by the government.

I am exhausted reading yours AM. Just looking after one toddler on my own had me asleep on the living room floor by 9.30.

auntymandy · 13/02/2007 07:15

Morning all!! Aunty Mandy here for an installment of my diary!!
Please feel free to ask me questions!!!!
This morning DS's didnt wake till almost 6 which is fantastic! DS 4 is in his'big boy bed' now this is his 4th night and the first one he didnt come banging on our door!!
So we came down stairs had a cuddle then DS4 had 2 weetabix, whilst I did the morning chores..washer,dryer,dishy,ironing!!
Obviously DH is still asleep..he needs his rest been an expectant Father!! Although he didnt get home from work till 1am so I s'pose I shouldnt complain..but I do (not very Emmaish I know!)
Had Toast(white) with marmlade and a cup of tea!! think I might have more!!!
Catch you later ladies!

Why would you wanna read some shite like that - my eyes glaze over when I hear about peoples birth stories (for the umpteenth time)

EdieMcredie · 13/02/2007 11:43

Ha ha.

For those of you who haven't had the misfortune to read Emma's diary, let me enlighten you by reading a few of the most irritating entries:

Week 36

''It's been dead sunny all week so on Friday I met up with Gina from my antenatal class for a picnic in the park. When we had managed to lower ourselves very slowly onto the grass we had a really good time chatting and munching our way through a vegetable quiche, tuna salad and new potatoes, as well as a huge bowl of strawberries for afters...''

Compare this to a real pregnant woman's diet.

Week 39

''On Sunday, Nick and I went for a long walk by the sea. The weather was really nice and we were watching all the kids playing on the sand and talking about taking Flump (!) there when he/she is older...''

Yes because im sure at 39 weeks most pregnant women can think of nothing better than going for a long walk by the sea.

LieselVentouse · 13/02/2007 11:48

I hope the Quiche was cooked properly

EdieMcredie · 13/02/2007 12:12

Ha ha. I mean, if there are pg women out there who manage to eat like that and take long walks at 39 weeks then good on them. However personally it all makes me go a little bit icky.

EdieMcredie · 13/02/2007 12:16

My entry would go like this...

Got out of bed in spare room as dp was snoring last night. Made myself some toast, burnt first lot. Then threw up. Ate toast and milk. Went on MN. Went through to lounge to watch TV but couldn't keep eyes open so went back to bed.

Got up an hour later and had a bit of a tidy as realised that house looked awful. Came on MN.

Expecting friend round but she hasn't told me what time she is coming and I can't be arsed to get dressed.

Just put jacket pot and cheese in oven. I know it will come back up but im starving.

Just put Emma's diary in recycling bin along with lots of other crap in my mat pack xx

ShowOfHands · 13/02/2007 12:28

Ooh I love Emma's Diary. Those little stories of 'oh we went dancing for six hours, I looked sensational and darling Nick said I was blossoming. Ankles slightly swollen today, but little flumpybumpy is doing well and my life is so perfect that I don't mind'.

Bugger orf.

Me, 27 weeks last night:

'Not so darling DH buggered off to MIL's for dinner leaving me at home to wait for the Tescos delivery. Discovered that I shouldn't have let DH do the online shop because he'd eschewed the normal route of 'bread, milk, cheese' and plumped for a family size packet of biscuits, some coconut snowballs, jaffa cakes and a litre of orange juice. Settled down to watch Eddie Izzard DVD. Baby got hiccups, spilt half a litre of orange juice over my epic-sized bump in shock. Couldn't get up because of sciatica so sat there, drenched in orange juice, stuffing chocolate snowballs into my mouth. Pelvic floor failed to cope with Eddie Izzard's best efforts. DH rolled in at midnight to find his gargantuan pregnant wife covered in coconut and orange juice remains, snoring and farting simultaneously with half a jaffa cake in her hair'

True story.

EdieMcredie · 13/02/2007 12:55

That's a good one ShowOfHands. You should telephone the makers of Emma's diary-they may consider printing your version instead!!

Chillout · 13/02/2007 13:01

I would pay for that version! My mw told me to put Emma in the bin..wonder what her, Flumpy and Nick are up to now...
