Positive pregnancy tests yet I've bled this morning please help!

Hello ladies I'm having a huge dilemma this morning I'm freakkng out too the max! This sounds pretty gross and I didn't really want too discuss it however I'm so concerned. Last night I went to the toilet and there appeared to be what looked like spit in my pants it had a stringy bit of blood in it.. It was very small. I've woken up this meinjnf with no pain yet I've bled slightly is this normal? If I was experiencing a mc I'm sure I would be in agaony this is my first pregnancy and im very worried I'm going too loose it please help xxxx

How many wks are you?

Red or brown blood? I spotted in both my pregnancies. One I had a mmc with, the other I'm due any day. Some people do spot bleed, it's very normal but you should talk to your gp or midwife.

You can also get implantation and breakthrough bleeding depending on how far along you are.

I'm 6 weeks I've been bleeding brown pinky blood at first then it got bad I put a pad on in the morning because I had a little bit of blood then by the time it was 6/7 o'clock in the evening it was pretty soaked but I had left it in the whole day I didn't bleed through out the night I only bleed when I stand up???? Xx

Shannon, it doesn't sound great to be honest but some people do spot it have periods during pregnancy. Can you give your GP a call?

Hi OP,
Unfortunately only time will tell. You can contact your early pregnancy unit and explain you are bleeding and you will be offered a scan.
I bled for the first 12 weeks (I'm currently 18 weeks) and all has been fine. The blood was mainly brown but enough for me to need pads.
I would recommend asking your GP to refer you for a scan. It will put your mind at ease.

I spotted for a while during the first trimester. As others have said you can only really speak to your doctor or midwife about options to investigate the cause. I would normally say rely on your gut instinct but during my first pregnancy I didn't have an instinct as I didn't know what was normal and what wasn't.

Hi shannon first of all I'm really sorry you're having this worry! I've been in 'limbo' myself and can sympathise with how you're feeling

Bleeding during pregnancy isn't that unusual in the sense that some women bleed during pregnancy and still go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies and babies. You will find hundreds examples of that on this site alone, but unfortunately many others do not and go on to miscarry. There's just no telling which side you fall at the moment.

Miscarriages aren't always the horror stories you hear about. My own 6 week MC was no different to a normal period, perhaps even less painful. I'm not saying this to make you worry, it's just that I was told repeatedly on another forum that because i wasn't bleeding super heavy or experiencing any pain I wasn't having a MC. I did have a MC and I was annoyed that so many people had given me false hope. There's a lot of misunderstanding about miscarriages I've noticed.

personally I would prepare for the worse but hope for the best and would (and do) advise the same to anyone experiencing bleeding during pregnancy.

are you registered with a MW yet? If so I would call her and explain. You may be referred for a scan or have your HCG checked over a few days at the very least. If not your GP might be able to arrange for this instead.

I bled and filled a pad at 6 weeks with DC1. Then it stopped as suddenly as it started. I hope you get good news x

Only a scan will show for certain. I'll be hoping for you. I know how horrible the waiting to know is. Do you have someone with you? Can you call someone?

Thank you ladies, I've been too the doctors and I've been booked in for a scan in the morning the pain is so mild and the bleeding seems to be getting my lighter it's only really coming when I am standing up... I'm not quite sure what to expect as this is the first time I've been pregnant I don't know if it's implantation bleeding or if it's a miscarriage my doctor was unsure himself he said it could be one of three things either an eptopic pregancy a miscarriage without pain or just bleeding due too being my first pregnancy.. Thank you for your time ladies it's really helping to keep my mind at ease hearing all of your experiences... Im preparing for the worst just incase xxxxx

Is everything ok OP? How did it go with the scan?

I had a miscarriage without pain but I've also had bleeding in a successful pregnancy. You just have to wait and see. Good luck op.
