Hello ladies. I'm 38 and about 6 weeks pregnant and just wondering if anyone else is in a similar boat and fancied joining this thread? Just for general chat and updates and support.

What's your DDday lily?
Mine is 14/12, but having an ELCS so likely to be around 7/8th I expect.
I have been drinking gaviscon like water, the heartburn is awful.
Nearly there!

pinkcandyflossy · 08/11/2016 09:10

Hello sj, cheryl and chicken you're all very welcome here :)

My other two are 8 and 10 too sj and I haven't told them yet. They already told me if I have a girl then that's ok but they don't want a boy. Lol. I don't know if we're going to find out yet.

cheryl amen to that! I'm doing exactly the same thing. But chicken I also struggled to sleep last night.... sleepy like a door mouse today!

Sorry gorilla and lily missed you out there! {{big wave to you both}}

lily oh god it's funny I suffered with heart burn massively last time and always had a large gaviscok liquid with me just to swig straight from the bottle and it's this kind of thing I totally forgot and now going oh yeah that was me! The puking on top of the heart burn must be horrendous though :( I can imagine why you just want it to be over and then there is a whole new reason to not be getting any sleep!

Are any of you having any 'am I mad' kind of thoughts? Hmm

Ahh pink, I'm 29+6, we had a gender scan at 16 weeks, they came along and I was worried sick as my daughter wanted a girl and my son a boy! I really thought we'd end up with someone really disappointed, however my daughter came round quite quickly to the idea of another brother!

The heartburn is indeed horrendous and the disgusting taste I am left with after I eat anything is driving me crazy.

Theknittinggorilla · 08/11/2016 23:08

I have bottles of Gaviscon dotted around the house and also just swig it straight from the bottle! I think the reflux is the worst symptom, even worse than the nausea for (though often have the two together).

My very independent 20 month old ds2 has suddenly decided he now wants me to carry him everywhere, think he knows what's coming! It is wrecking my poor back....

VioletWillow · 10/11/2016 09:44

Hi everyone! I forgot I had posted on here and only realised when I pressed threads I'm on by mistake - either its a third pregnancy or my age that is frying my memory! Grin I'm at almost 15 weeks (I think, I was definitely more precise with my other two) so am thankfully out of the sickness stage, and am now waiting for the wriggles and kicks so I can start to bond a bit. We're planning a private scan in a week or so to find out what flavour we have, DP hopes for a boy but doesn't mind overly, I couldn't care less really. Well except that we have a girls name and clueless on a boys name so a girl could be easier!
Not good on all the heartburn! I had that a lot with my first, ugh.
Pink yes most definitely! I have had a few Hmm looks from friends who I am sure think I am depressed as I keep saying oh God I have to give birth again, oh God I have to look after a baby again - bu the reality is just a lot more clear now, and I am older! I'm going to be even more tired and haggard than last time! I could have said no more babies and chosen gin and cruises...

pinkcandyflossy · 11/11/2016 11:01

SJ yes I remember that taste too.

violet how exciting for you to wait for the movement! That is one of my favourite times when you get the first proper movement, like a stroke from the inside!

Yes indeed it was a tough decision. I gave up the pill and got pregnant 2 months later when we weren't even trying. And at the end of that time I was saying I'll go back on the pill now and we can enjoy all the parties that come along with christmas. Well that wasn't meant to be for me was it!

So today I'm feeling thoughtful because it seems my fiance does not want to have sex with me. So as well as feeling a bit bigger than my usual skinny self, and the ongoing woes of pregnancy, I feel like my man doesn't fancy me at all. :(

I'm 35 and 11 weeks with number 3. Have ds 2 and dd 5.

I feel like complete crap! Can't remember feeling this bad before but it's novel with number one and after x2 mc and ectopic between I was just pleased to be pregnant with ds!!

I have also had the am I mad moment when I was chasing ds and he was running out of next with no shoes on while we were trying on new shoes! He's a boisterous 2 yr old, thankfully dd is a dream and will be so excited once we tell them. She'd love a girl and I really hope it is for her, but obviously we'll be happy either way.

Hulaballoo · 12/11/2016 21:46

Hi can I join? I'm 36 , only just got my BFP a few days ago. Expecting DC3 😀. Excited but very nervous, as after DC1 I had a chem preg and then went on to have DC2 but the worry never goes. 😟 These first 12 weeks are a constant worry. Argh! Hope you're all well xx

RedCrab · 13/11/2016 09:34

Hi all - can I join in?

I'm 36, 20 weeks with DC3. We have 4 year old DS and 20 month old DD. I've been really sick but it's getting better. Slightly worried about giving myself GD because I keep eating sweet things - because it's the only thing that takes away that awful hungover/ jet lagged feeling. I'm absolutely exhausted but that could be lack of sleep (looking At you, DD!)

finova · 13/11/2016 17:29

I'm tired too Redcrab, I'm 19 weeks so should be a bit better.
Really want to crack on with getting house really organised so it's easier to cope with 3.
Not as easy with 2 others to look after!

Theknittinggorilla · 13/11/2016 18:27

I'm dying to do that too finova. Getting nothing done on my days off with two running around. Finishing work at 29 weeks and that is my plan....

RedCrab · 13/11/2016 21:43

So much for the second trimester energy spurt!

RedCrab · 13/11/2016 21:45

Restless legs. Wtf has no one found a cure for restless legs yet?!

Theknittinggorilla · 13/12/2016 09:26

Hello anyone still around? Had my 20 week scan last week and my new car (bus) arrives this week! Gone are nice cars, hello 7 seater behemoth.......
Hope everyone is doing ok and not too tired.

noitsachicken · 13/12/2016 16:49

Hello!
I had my DD two weeks ago! A week earlier than expected, and a week before my elcs!
All ok though! We are getting to grips with getting everyone in the seven seater, it's a challenge!

Theknittinggorilla · 13/12/2016 18:40

Ooh congratulations chicken how exciting! I'm jealous, feel like I've still got an age to go before dc3 arrives.
How are you coping so far? Remind me how old your other two are?

noitsachicken · 13/12/2016 19:57

Four and a half and 23 months.
It's ok, busy, but ok. With paternity and Xmas hols DH is home until new year, so that's a bonus!

RedCrab · 13/12/2016 20:43

Congratulations Chicken! Hope all was ok.

I'll have similar age gaps - DD will have just turned 2 (as in literally just turned 2!) and DS will be four and half too when DD2 arrives. How's it going? Good timing re Christmas hols and paternity leave.

Theknittinggorilla · 13/12/2016 21:25

Similar to me! Will have 4 and a half and 2 and a couple of months. Eeek.

RedCrab · 13/12/2016 21:32

Aiiiiieeee!!

I am feeling so meh about the idea of having to go through childbirth again. I had an awful first labour with my son and was quite traumatised by it. So I was completely galvanised when pregnant with my DD - I was gonna have a home birth and GODAMMIT, it will be great. And it was - six hours, no need for pain relief, just lost it a bit during transition and it was painful but ok. Amazing birth. At home, in my pool, laughing and relaxed between contractions.

But this time I'm just like - ugh god, I have to it again. Oh man. I just don't want to.

Need to get my head in the game!
