Is arnica OK? I'm going slowly mad and need to feel there's something I can do other than lie on my side (not practical at work) I'm sure others have had them worse, it's just that I've never had them at all (lucky me). All suggestions gratefully received.

Witchhazel is good to reduce swelling. You can also use lemon juice but it stings a bit. Also, doing pelvic floor excercises can really reduce the problem or help prevent it reoccurring.

Thanks BabyBloomer - will give it a whirl, and will do my excercises with even more zeal than usual (?!) Guess it's nature's way of balancing attention evenly around the place!

I think anything you can get over the counter is OK during pregnancy. Don't know anything about the "alternatives" though but can sympathise and empathise with you!
