I had similar with my first Kate, which I thought was hormones and ignored. It turned out to be prenatal anxiety, which became horrific postnatal anxiety that I needed CBT for. I would mention it to the MW. Much easier to sort it prebirth than when you have a newborn to care for!

Kate I agree it's worth speaking to your midwife about, there's lots of support available. I struggle a lot with anxiety during pregnancy (and outside pregnancy) and have had some great support for it which really helps. I also find my mood can be pretty changeable, I'm fine one minute and then my mood will suddenly drop. I have a list of things that help me when I'm feeling low and I work my way through that. If nothing else, it gives me the feeling if doing something practical. Pregnancy can be really tough, both emotionally and physically. Be kind to yourself.

Thank you both for replying...I will take your advice and speak to my MW about it. I struggled with mental health when I was in my teens although it manifested in an eating disorder I am still very aware that it could creep up again and I suppose at a time like this when there's a lot of worry anyway it's going to be highlighted even more. Thank you again, I'll get it nipped in the bud x

Hi, guys, hope you are all doing well! I'm due 8th December, 34 weeks tomorrow. Suffering badly with heartburn, back and pelvic pain! The joys! Does everyone know what they are having? We're having a boy, so excited! X

kate2103 I've been feeling the same, having a lot of anxiety at the moment. All sorts going through my head, had a good chat with my fiancee last night and had a bit of a meltdown. Bless, he tries to reassure me the best he can. I'm quite an anxious person anyway but it seems to have stepped up a few notches in pregnancy. I have a midwife appointment tomorrow, I'm going to take the other ladies advice on here and talk to her about it and try and cope a little better with the right support. Thanks, guys. X

Hormones playing havoc with me also. Was crying earlier because I want a 4th and I haven't even had my 3rd yet. 4 would be crazy though and 3 is my limit but I feel sad that my Eldest will be the only girl. Blooming hormones. Doesn't help that it's her 7th birthday tomorrow. They grow too quickly x

Defo speak to the midwife as I've had friends who had depressions and anxiety in pregnancy for it to then manifest into serious post natel depression.cognitive therapy seemed to help one of them.

There are lively threads running in the pregnancy chat topic

You might like to join one - or ask MNHQ to move this one over (if you look at how busy that topic is, you'll see why they're separate - no other pregnancy question would get a look in if they migrated over here)

It's mad really because when I'm having a more stable moment I can see completely that I'm being anxious and paranoid for nothing but at the time I just meltdown! I am definitely going to speak to MW at my next appointment as there have been times I've felt as if it is depression I'm getting. Hope everyone is having a good day though Smile being able to share experiences and chat on here is a massive help x

I think one of the things I've found really helpful with pregnancy anxiety as well is to realise I'm not alone and speak to others in the same place. It becomes a vicious circle when the anxiety itself starts to make you feel anxious.
Hope your midwife can provide some good support kate.

Due Dec 29th Smile my only complaint is killer leg cramps at night! My leg hurts for about 2 days afterwards! Should probably start stretching before bed time but always passed out exhausted before I remember to do it...
