Swollen fingers- will they go back to normal?

Help- will they go back to normal after the birth?

I hadn't really noticed them getting bigger but now my rings are completely wedged on and won't budge.

Will they return to their pre pregnancy size afterwards or am I going to be stuck with the rings wedged onto my fingers forever?

Mine certainly did - not sure my feet have fully though!

They do go back to normal size-just like your boobs will

Also, drink plenty of water as it may just be water retention. My fingers swell when I'm dehydrated

Yes they will. If you can get your rings off at any point though, do it. My midwife told me to take mine off as it your fingers swell more and they start to cut off circulation or be painful, they'll have to cut them off

My fingers have finally gone back to normal after 5 months post birth! I was worried that I was never going to be able to wear my rings again (which I accept is preferable to worrying if they will never come off again!!) I usually manage to get off any tight rings by putting my hands in really cold water and using a lot of washing up liquid.

Yes. I had to take my rings off when I was pregnant. If you can't get them off try soap/oil/Vaseline/lubricant of your choice. I would take them off sooner rather than later as your hands are only likely to swell more. Mine ballooned during labour due to water retention, partly because I was on a drip for ages. It took a couple of months before I could wear my rings again. My feet and my boobs are still bigger even a year on and back to my original weight!

Desperately clinging to hope based on this thread! My rings no longer fit either OP. Decided to take them off a few weeks ago- tried to put them back on again yesterday and they didn't make my knuckle 😬

Before I was pregnant, they were too big! I'' 36 weeks tomorrow.

My fingers went back to normal. I've lost weight and I'm slimmer than pre-pregnancy, so my rings are a little bit loose now. My feet also returned to normal, but my boobs stayed larger even though it's 3 years on and I've lost the rest of the weight.

First pregnancy, my rings really started to dig in, and I wished I'd taken them off when they first got stuck. I had to rub my hand with vaseline and soak it in ice water until they went down enough to slowly prise the rings off.

For me the swelling went down almost immediately. The shoes I wore into the hospital were way too big when I put them on to go home.

Absolutely yes. My nose and feet went back to normal size too! My legs got even more swollen after giving birth and stayed huge for about 10 days then it all went away.

I've tried everything to get them off and they won't budge! Feels like my bones in the knuckles are bigger as they just won't go over! I will keep having a go but won't worry too much about it. They aren't digging in, they just won't come off.

I should have taken them off weeks ago but didn't think about it until it got to the point where they wouldn't come off!

Unfortunately with DC1 mine never went back down & I had to get all 3 re-sized @ £50 each after getting them cut off at 28 weeks!

Won't be letting that happen this time!

My fingers didn't swell enough to warrant me removing my rings, but they did swell a bit. They do go back to their normal size after the birth though. Mine took a few weeks and were back to normal
