Labour sign or tummy bug?!

I'm due on Friday and today I've had this weird sedation in my lower back, not pain almost sensitive/tingly and the feeling that I have an upset tummy (if you know what I mean?!). My hubby had a bug last week so not sure if I'm picking that up or if maybe it's a sign of labour onset? This is baby #2 but ds1 went 2 weeks over and J was induced with no signs!

It could be my lovely! They say it's common to have a dodgy tummy just before as the body is cleaning itself out so to speak I had this too but I was in hospital and had just had my waters broken so it was no doubt why my body was doing it haha you posted nearly an hour ago has anything changed?

Nothing really. I'm having some aches but nothing notable really. So much so I can't tell if the baby has just moved/squashed into awkward position as I always get pain from that! I had what I thought were contractions through the night last night - 15/20 mins apart but they just stopped and I woke up this morning still preggo! 😂

I trained as a midwife, it's a definite sign of things coming to an end.. i had it with all my four pregnancies, im just waiting for it now with my fifth!

I was having very 'early labour' (random contractions etc) for about a week before DS was born! Had a slow leak in my waters in the end hence having them broken for me- how far along are you op?

Thanks...let's hope so - I'm so ready now. Feeling is now the same as that you get in your period - not exactly painful but definitely uncomfortable! It's about now I'd be popping some feminax if it was my period

And don't worry, even if u dnt go into full blown labor tonight, ur body is doing all the right things x
Sometimes it's better to have lots of niggles and twinges for a few days that thin and get ur cervix favourable , without any real pain. Much nicer than doin it all at once and exhausting urself !

And...here comes the back aches! I remember thee from first time around - when all you can do is stand with your forehead against the wall trying desperately to straighten your spine out 🙈

I agree with motherduck I had a week of random contractions that were niggling but manageable at home and when I did go in to get my waters broken I was already 4cm dilated! I was only in active labour for 6hours in the end (would of been 4 but I really struggled pushing him out!) so my body had been preparing me the whole time leading up to!! Oooooh it's exciting op this really sounds like it!! (For reference I had my DS at 39+6 so similar to you!) xx

Well ladies it wasn't it! Contractions went on until around 3am then I fell asleep and nothing! I have midwife this morning but I'm not sure if she'll do an internal as it's just a local midwife apt. I might ask for some options - I'm terrified to go overdue again x
