That's it. I officially give up on maternity wear!

Currently 30w with DD2 but don't have much of a bump.

I don't want to wear leggings and an oversized jumper (except in the privacy of my own home).

Nor do I want to teeter around in a bodycon dress that emphasises my "new-found curves".

Nor do I want to wear an unshapely sack with a hideous print which masquerades as a dress.

I just want to look nice with a cute bump, but am reluctant to spend a load of money on maternity wear that my belly will likely never grow into.

Looks like I'll be wearing my 3 pairs of H&M over the bump jeans on rotate for the next 2 months and whichever of my usual dresses I can still get into.

Anyone else fancy a moan along with me!?

I'm 32 weeks, I have two pairs of trousers and 3 tops that are on rotation, my bump is pretty obvious, I have no coat but refuse to buy one for a few weeks wear. I live in trackie bottoms that are comfy when at home

God I hate maternity wear, those horrible dresses made inexplicably out of t-shirt material. Hideous. My tactic is to go online somewhere like Asos, order pretty much everything that looks like it might be half-decent and then be disappointed and return 90% of it. Seraphine are sometimes ok for some tops and dresses but even they have the hideous fabrics also. Why you can't just get work clothes in normal suiting material with some stretch panels in the side, I really don't know.

Jeans and a t shirt + cardigan is my wardrobe right now, I also have a denim mini skirt from Seraphine which is very comfy with opaque tights.

Thankfully my office is dress down, I have a couple of dresses also from Seraphine which are not hideous when I need to be smart.

37 weeks and have used ASOS as its not too bad and my mother care (large superstore) has some nice stuff in regarding pants/shirts.

I'm 34 weeks and I cant wait to attempt to fit into my old clothes again. I have one pair of jeans for leaving the house in (don't need work wear, SAHP) a few maternity tops and some non-maternity jumpers. That's going to have to do for the next few weeks! You could try ebay if you want to buy a few more bits but don't want to spend loads, I got some good stuff from eBay in my first pregnancy.

I am with you. 33 weeks and living in a few normal dresses that fit and a couple of frugi breastfeeding dresses which I bought last time via eBay. Afraid I am sporting them with leggings, I have a couple of tops I loved last time but find jeans and trousers so uncomfortable now that I have given up wearing them. Thank goodness it is getting colder and this acceptable to get into pjs early in the day! SAHP now so no need for work wear thankfully.

I can't wait to wear normal clothes again but hate the restrictions breastfeeding places on that as well.

I had loads of lovely Maternity stuff.
I do live near the mamas and papas factory shop though so that helped. I also had a lot of Jojo maman stuff and Isabella Oliver.

As I'm not in the U.K. it's a bit of a pain to order online as the delivery and return costs can add up. I've had a couple of ASOS orders and returned everything except the maternity tights!!! The black trousers I was hoping I could wear to work turned out to be some vile polyester monstrosity.

I have a couple of Isabella Oliver bits from last time but unfortunately the black trousers which I love are totally faded and no longer suitable to wear to work and they don't seem to sell them any more.

I actually went out in leggings and a tshirt the other day- bum on full display in hideous Lycra. Totally lost it now that maternity jeans don't fit.

On the plus side, I've never felt so motivated to get fit as soon as babies are out.

You can absolutely wear this as mat leave. I'm not pregnant and have it and at 5.6 it comes to about 2" above my knees.

God I hate "maternity wear". Haven't been able to stand my over the bump jeans since about 28 weeks and maternity vest tops were complete waste of money as too short to cover bump since about then too. Living in leggings and jersey tunics and a jersey maxi dress a size too big, but been mainly slobbing out at home since start of term anyway so don't really care! Hate "nursing" wear almost a much but at least will be glad to see the back of current limited options

At least you have a small bump and have options. I've been huuuuuge this time around (second) and have basically given up now I'm 35 weeks. I have two nice pairs of Seraphine trousers, but other than that I'm wearing jersey dresses from Isabella Oliver and Seraphine that aren't terribly flattering. I had some nice dresses from some French maternity brands last time around but they're a bit tired to wear a second time around.

There's a few dress and skirt suppliers on Amazon where I got a few skirts from and all between £10-20.
The jersey skirts were super comfy over the summer as did not have the tight elastic but were over bump and did not fall down.

Just checked my account and it was the happy mama ones I bought.

I hate jersey dresses I want dresses that pull in under the bust and then cascade over my bump. I do not want them to have flowers or fricking butterflies on them! My best dresses are my normal ones that still fit. At 26 weeks and with an ever expanding bust that won't be for much longer!

Chloechloe Dylon do a black dye suitable for dying faded clothes. Might that be an option for the trousers?

Yup. I'm the same - small bump, I hate floral twee dresses with bands that tie above the bump, awful clingy cheap jersey to "show off the bump", ugh ugh ugh.

I've only bought h&m jeans so far and am living in those w floaty blouses and jackets + my wide selection of cos dresses. Oh I also splashed out on a pair of Isabella oliver leather trousers which have been my sole going out outfit for the last few weeks as refuse to buy one of those cutesy party dresses from seraphine.

It was jersey like thicker than t shirt material and plain colours in different styles not flowery or anything.
No different to the maternity stuff you'd find in H&M or supermarkets ranges.

H&M definitely do THE best jeans.. well, either that or the OP and I are just the same size! I don't really get on with maternity wear either.

The swing dress is nice diddly, I have a similar one from Boden in navy that I've been wearing to work. I prefer to buy normal clothes that will hopefully still look nice without a bump. It's just a shame that most dresses aren't BF friendly so won't be able to wear them straight after the birth.

mint I actually have a jersey skirt so will give that a go for work with a blouse and blazer.

I was wondering about Dylon CL, also as I have quite a few pairs of black jeans than could do with freshening up. I was a bit worried about it not rinsing out of the washing machine though, but don't know if that's an issue?

So in a fit of optimism I've ordered a couple of mat dresses from ASOS, let's see if they go back as per usual!

I wouldn't have thought it's a problem, I guess to a black load next then maybe an empty one? Maybe just check out reviews first.

Plain black dresses, waterfall grey cashmere cardigan tights and boots have been life savers for me.

I agree! I got some nice jeans from the maternity range in Topshop. Also got 2 pairs of Next maternity trousers for work which I've been pairing with tops a size bigger from Primark.

I find maternity dresses don't fit me that well. The bump's okay but my boobs aren't that massive so I'm drowning in them round the bust.
